    Spot. On. :D

Although, the beard is kind short for you....

Oh, did I mention this....my wife and I had a trip to TXK by ourselves last week (my parents took the kiddos fishing ((man, I wanted to go)), and I had to go to Lowe's for some new mirror hanging hardware, wife wanted to go to Ross' to show me a wood vase she saw and wanted, I said no, we gotta short time limit, I need to finish painting, and it's the end of the month (which means end of the $$).
She kept insisting and insisting, and I said "Fine, we'll get it if I can shave my head this summer", expecting a "nevermind" in return.....

....I need to start trimming my hair even shorter to prep it for the summer sun now, since her new vase is setting on the fireplace now :happy108

    Firefighters tend to be under-appreciated.

    Indeed.

    Amen!

You suspect it'll be that low?

Let me know before you do it... I might have some pointers.
Don't buy any more hats until after you shave your head. Then you'll want to buy one. Also, if you've got any t-shirts that are about ready to be turned into rags, save the sleeves from them. Trust me on this.

I meant to say "at least 95%", so no, probably closer to 100, but I like to give some comfortable wiggle room

Okay, the shirt sleeve thing has me curiously confused, or confusedly curious...

At night, you're probably used to sleeping with a fan or the air-conditioner on. You're also used to sleeping with hair on your head.

Since I started shearing my gulliver, my tolerance for cold temps has dropped drastically. A t-shirt sleeve makes a great sleep cap... The open top keeps it from trapping too much heat, but it also keeps the sides of your head (and your ears) from getting too cold. It also has the added benefit that you can slip it down over your eyes and use it as a sleep mask.

ahhhhh I am glad you explained that.

Alternatively, he can just trim his hair one guard size shorter each week until he is going without any substantial hair anyway.

When lathering up with sunscreen don't forget the dome.

Burn on a freshly shaved melon is not so much fun.

    ahh, pretty ingenious.
But, you'd be surprised how rarely I sleep with the fan on, even as cold natured as I am. It's a toss up, do I want to sleep comfortably cool, or do I want to breathe the next day...until August, breathing wins :D

yeup, this is my plan, and in fact has been for a couple weeks already (before the "agreement", which she has already tried to sweet-talk her way out of :D)
Down to level 5 on my beard trimmer. Saturday it goes to 4.
Already shaved a couple of areas at the front for the purpose of evening out the receding area....the left side of my hairline is retreating faster than the right :o

That's the one thing I'm gonna hafta remember. I almost never use sunscreen, hate the stuff - not the alleged protection aspect, but the slimy greasy feeling of it - yes, even the expensive "non greasy" formula ones.

Can't stand. Can't do other skin lotions either (aside from aftershave balms/lotions)

Although I haven't actually shaved my head, I do go with a 1 guard and occasionally accidentally use no guard. So far, no noggin burns and I am terrible about putting sun screen on.

  14. Ditto on using sunscreen; however once you get a base tan on your head you don't have to worry as much.

I think your wife will like the freshly shaven head with a nice tan. :agelic13

Mine keeps threatening to leave if I actually shave my head. However, as you can tell from the the pic in the PIF area (coffee thread) there really isn't that much there anyway.

We'll see, she's always been adamantly against me shaving it, though it's too a point genetics is doing a slow, uneven job of it :ashamed001

Still, your statement may hold water; a while after we started dating in college she told me she'd always hated beards/goatee/facial hair at all.
Yet, here she is, almost 13 years of marriage later, and she's never seen me without at least mustache and goatee, and probably at least half that time (including when we started dating), a full beard :D

So, she may find herself surprised.

It doesn't help that my sister's ex-husband, and current husband, both shave their heads (though the current one's dome looks much better shaved), I keep telling her "but that's not me, that's them".

I'm looking forward to the day, though. Probably gonna do it after Easter, methinks

oh, oops....my bad, didn't think about it honestly. I think it actually may have linked from Engadget or something, I haven't deliberately gone to Giz or LH in a while, other than Deal of the Day link to Gizmodo I get at Facebook
