It was a nice day today. Took a 6 mile hike with the pooch at the Delaware Water Gap. She was a trooper. Someone who knows nothing about dogs, asked me if she were a baby Husky. Did a bunch of yard work, washed, vacuumed, and changed the oil in the car. Getting ready to grill some Salmon and asparagus and enjoy a nice ice cold one.

We spent the day in indy. The weather was questionable during the three hour drive. However, the museum was nice and the sun was shining when we were finished. We walked along the canal and walked to eat and let wife and daughter get godiva chocolate. Another pleasant walk along the canal back to the car and on to the hotel. All in all it was a beautiful spring day. Now if daughter would quit asking to go to the pool.

At 8:00 AM this morning, a Fairy, a Barbary Pirate, and a Peasant loaded into a Honda and headed out on a 2 hour journey back to the 16th Century.

We got to watch a "professional showoff" contort himself into painful positions, juggle knives, and swallow fire--always an excellent show. Then we headed over to the stands and watched the knights' jousting tournament. They were a little "off" but I suspect it's because one of their comrades dislocated his shoulder yesterday while jousting. Then, we scooted over to the harem to take in the belly-dancing show.

Had Shepherd's Pie for lunch, and a deep-fried pretzel for a snack later. Listened to some fine singing, and enjoyed looking at all the steam-punk folks who were meandering around the faire. Of course, we did the circuit of booths, and made a few gift purchases, and I think I've finally completed my garb ensemble--bought a nice scimitar to complete my barbary pirate costume.

The wife got a complement on her fairy wand (from a wand seller!) and another vendor complimented her on the inventiveness of her wings.

I even got a compliment on my turban--which I figured out how to tie myself, borrowing a few different techniques from youtube and then then figuring out a nice finishing technique on my own. And in case any of you were wondering, my bottle worked great! It hung nicely from my belt, and I was able to remove it when I needed a swig of water. It kept TWGW and I well hydrated all day, and even drew the notice of one of the vendors. Thanks for you input on how to attach it, gang.

Sadly, all good things must come to an end, so we headed back home. But TWGW and I weren't done yet! We got cleaned up, doctored her sunburned feet, and then loaded back up into the car and drove another 30 miles for some Little Ceasar's pizza. Perfect cap to a perfect day.

    How's Your Day? Apr 11 - Apr 17

Heading out in the morning to work on-site for 4 days. Thankfully, I'll have phone and internet the whole time so I can keep up with everyone. The travel is the only negative so far on the new job - I'll deal with it considering all the up sides.

    How's your day?

I had a killer headache all day yesterday between the weather changes, the flowering trees in Indianapolis and the terrible sleep, I was just bleh all day. Finally got back home and went to bed almost immediately. Starting off today with the headache still holding on. Yeah... its going to be a wonderful day.

Unless the scale is lying to me, I have lost and kept off 23 lbs since mid February and was able to fit in a pair of jeans I haven't been able to wear in over a year.

I've slept pretty well for the last 2 nights in a row. I can't believe how rested I feel. I didn't even take a melatonin last night! Slept in yesterday, and then went to Wallace-world and picked up a new window unit for the bedroom. Got it installed in under an hour, and so I got to sleep in a nice cool bedroom last night. Glorious!

We watched a Terrence Hill movie last night, "My Name is Nobody." Has two of the best on-screen shaving moments ever. If you aren't familiar, it's the 3rd movie in the Trinity movies. "My Name is Trinity" was first, then "Trinity is Still My Name" then "My Name is Nobody." MNIN is the only one available for streaming on netflix or I would have watched the first one. They're silly, campy fun in a spaghetti western setting. For all its goofiness, the movie actually had some pretty amazing camera work, especially for 1973.

The secret of a long life is you try not to shorten it.

Wasn't that also Henry Fonda's last western? That makes my top 10 list of westerns.

I love the story about the baby bird and the cow and the coyote. The moral to the story was priceless.

Yay! Congratulations, way to go! Now, I need to get back into a healthy routine. My jeans are a bit tight today after the last few weeks of sloth.

    Ouch... Hey,l resemble that remark!

Okay, been a hectic week last week; been a hectic weekend; and now it's PSPT, and it's super concentrated hectic....

In other news, I was looking up info on a movie last night on IMDb, and somehow stumbled across Bobcat Goldthwait's profile on there, realized I hadn't seen any movies with him in it in quite awhile, save the Police Academy movies he's in. Discovered a couple of interesting tidbits:

    A) he's good friends with the guy who voices Spongebob Squarepants...as in, went to school and graduated together, and on into their comedy careers.

    B) I never realized it before, but I have an old friend from high school who recently found me on facebook, who has a profile pic that I swear makes him look just like a young Bobcat G. (do I really need to go through the trouble of trying to spell that again?).

That could coincide with a friend I worked with in college that looks just like Chandler on Friends...that's one that everyone else there said he looked just like him, but it was a useless fact to me having never seen an episode of Friends at that time. In fact, I'd never seen an episode until the last season, then a few reruns would run and I realized, yep, spittin' image.

Okay, enough nonsense for now, back into the fire...
