Bill, thanks for starting the thread this week. I was under the weather in the morning and when I started feeling better, I got so busy and watched the new Doctor Who episode - forgetting to long on here.

Speaking of Doctor Who - great way to open the new season! I'm very much looking forward to next week.

Although we haven't had any tornadoes, we have had a lot of wind, some hail, some flooding, and lots of rain for a large part of the last week. Looks like this week is going to be the same.

I was really hoping that this year's autism walk wouldn't be a slug through mud and rain hike. Oh well, it doesn't bother me too much; but it hurts the turn out and a lot of the spectrum kids won't go.

Today is not looking like a great PSPT so far, but we'll see. Hopefully it won't get out of hand.

Started a new book over the weekend. It's actually 2 books, Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse and The Toyminator. :happy102

    So far, they're great fun.

Oh, I forgot to mention the other excitement of the day yesterday.

After the tree snake incident, we went out to my parents' house for typical Easter lunch and whole (local) family egg hunt. We went out hiding eggs, already a bit more alert than normal for "leg-less lizards", walking carefully, kicking bits of high grass a bit before hiding an egg there, etc.
I'm sure it was great fun seeing us (well, my wife and I, at least) being extra-cautious walking around.

We were about done when my wife screams something incoherent. I look over at her and her posture looks like one you might have shooing a bee or wasp away. As she was backing up with a frightened look on her face, I noticed her upper body was completely frigid...it was not a flying-insect-swatting posture, it was a just_about_to_place_an_egg_on_the_ground frozen posture.

Once I figured that out I ran over to see the salamander that she found, my BIL and mom had already seen one right after church.

Got over there to see the 2.5 foot speckled king snake she found :shocked003

We did our best to shoo him away into the woods, but unfortunately he just wouldn't cooperate. After about 5 minutes of coercing (and treating my wife's trauma :D), one of my uncles came over and went ahead and killed it.

As much as we like king snakes around to take care of the copperheads, he would've died anyway (and much less sympathetically) if my dad had seen it when he got home, so it's a moot point.

And yes, my wife did wake up twice after having dreams of trees with snakes in them and around them :rofl

Crap!!! I nicked myself twice around the adam"s apple today, TWICE!! I haven't been nicked in more than six months at least. Got sloppy and took my mind off what I was doing.

They are saying we're in for another round of tornados between now and sometime Wednesday. Not cool. Not cool at all. I wish I had another collection of razors to sell so I could finance an in-ground tornado shelter.

In a couple of hours I'll be taking my dad to have a spinal cord stimulator implant put in. Crossing fingers it works to rid or alleviate significantly the pain he suffers in his back. My mother had this done too and it worked for her in terms of pain management.

In the good news department, my "Jody Made It To 1,000" TSD contest ended last night and I'm very happy with the results. $136.00 raised for TSD! Very proud of this and thankful to those that participated.

Good luck to your dad on the implant. My brother had one done and it ended up causing him bowel problems instead of fixing the pain. Hopefully, your dad will have better luck. I know those implants work for a lot of people.

Ugh... can somebody please stop this PSPT?!? I wanna go back to bed.

Some of these things that this guy has done would make really awesome avatars.

alas, I can only get this one down to 26kb.

The job I interviewed for last week wants me to come in and observe for a few hours this week. Never done that before so hopefully it's a good sign. Even if I don't get this position it's at least renewed my confidence that something will come along eventually.

So our daughter just watched the last episode of Firefly. She asked about getting season 2. When we told her that there wasn't a 2nd season, she said something about "Stupid Fox"...

Oh, I am so proud of the little browncoat!

It makes me sad that I cant watch that show again for the first time. :(

Stupid Fox was referring to the Fox network for canceling the show, it had nothing to do with the content of any particular episode.
