Fixed it. Never did see the post though.

I had to go to your post history and soft delete that last post from the Android thread. I can't even view the post.

No idea what you did, but DON'T do it again! :p :rofl

    Now, fix my mouse!

    cool, thanks; sorry 'bout that

as for your mouse, you may need to go into Device Manager and uninstall it, then plug it back in, Windows should find it

I think Windows broke it, but I'll try your suggestion. Thank you. :)

:( My computer is being weird.

Guess I'll wait for my techs. Don't wanna wait.............

I totally misread that as "wired", and thought to myself, "Of course it's wired, how else would a computer work?" :D

Okay, kinda worried about Micah now...he made that one "embarrassing" post (not embarrassing at all, really....much, much, much milder than I was a-fearin'), and now he's hardly been on since....I hope he didn't get his undies in a bunch :happy102 (kidding, Micah, kidding :D)

The rumors of my knicker-twisting have been greatly exaggerated. We went back to the poo-blick lie-berry today and revisited the book sale. Yesterday I picked up some cool reference books on classical music and opera for $1.50, and then today for $9.50 I bought this:

Just been kinda lurking the web since we got home.

As regards the "embarrassing" topic, there is a reason they're called "unmentionables" and I feared it might infringe on the delicate sensibilities of some of the members around here, mixed company and whatnot. But seriously, gang, you should try it. It might not be for you, but it's worth cutting up an old bedsheet to find out.

    Nice haul!

You know I'm messing with ya, but yeah, I've tried thong-type unmentionables, not to my liking, but you never know.
Let me put it this way, I may love my Vibram Five Fingers and can get used to that material between my toes, but.....(literally and figuratively :D).
(the Vibrams actually did surprise me, I can't stand flip flops for that exact reason, the piece between the big toe and second toe really bothers me)

Kewl beans! That is a good selection.

It doesn't bother me that you mentioned unmentionables. If anything, this forum where we deal with so many other traditional things jockeying against modern cultural ideals is a good place to bring it up. Your brief introduction to the topic certainly has to have many of us thinking. I will give it to you, you certainly appear to be comfortable when thinking outside of the boxer.

That, my friend, deserves a slow clap. In colour:

Now, in unrelated news, scientist have put together a recreation of Jim's recent actions that borked the android thread. The slow-motion simulation reveals 3 possible ways it might have gone down. The differences, while subtle, are very telling:

Yup... I am sure that would have done it. Also explains the weird hair balls all over the place this morning.

Uggh, what a day....well, afternoon, anyway.

Morning was pretty good, my daughter was knighted this morning, pictures coming this evening, I hope.

However, one of the Absolute Rules of IT was in full effect today:

You can be at work, on time, everyday for a month, but you take one morning to be off for a short personal event, expect 1,000 phone calls, 1,000 emails, and 1,000 texts, all of the "Oh God, Fix It Now!!!" variety.

    Uggh

My day got a little better after our knighting ceremony, actually. Testing got moved back a week so I don't have to be responsible for babysitting the sessions! WOOHOO!

Don't... print to PDF and save on network drive or flash drive or just don't print and save it to a file.

It just is not a good idea. I know there are teachers that just have to have the kids print a hard copy.. but bleh....

that's cool, sorry I haven't been able to dig my notes out yet, work's been one giant kick to the gonads since I've been here...

Ours is a rather non-standard setup, in that the cart contains: 24 Acer netbooks, one Linksys WRT router, and one network printer.
When a teacher checks out the cart, they plug the router into the network, the computers all connect to that router, and the printer is connected to the router, that all the netbooks print to.

Though we are seriously considering the print to PDF thing for next year, among many of the possible/probable "cost-cutting" changes for next year.

Some of which I just heard rumors of today.....really not sounding too good

Coming from outside the Education system, that doesn't sound so non-standard (except the Acer notebooks - they don't seem to get along with corporate security measures). Routers and network printers work well and are easy to setup. Downside is they're easy to use and encourage excess printing.

Around here the standard set up is 30 netbooks on a cart without a printer. They are set up to print to a printer in one of the labs. However, you are probably using the cart and not the lab because somebody else is already using that lab. And if you are the person in the lab, it is more than a bit distracting to have the printer randomly printing things from someone else's class. It is even worse if that teacher keeps sending kids down to the lab to get their individual print outs.

Once, I got fed up enough to turn off the printer....

Now trying to figure out how to make a castle for my daughter's school project.

Pretty neat deal, but so detailed. All the other options are simple - replica weapon, diorama, draw a picture, etc. But the hardest one is also riddled with picky details...ugh.

    Oh well
