Setting up Hobo McGillicuddy sound system for sports banquet tonight... everything is working erratically, can't reproduce problems consistently, and nothing is generally working as it should.

Meanwhile... EOC testing has experienced a cock-up that (thankfully, after some deliberation) doesn't reflect on me, but I'm sure I'll end up involved somehow. Then to top it off, the proctor caching server lost power in the middle of testing.

    Oh joy.

And, I've got to get the sound system working better before the next event on Thursday. Here, let me just pull everything we need out of my butt...

why would you insult the Reavers like that? I mean, what did they ever do to you?

uggh, unreproducable problems are the worst

    I know the feeling
and it shouldn't be a problem as long as
it doesn't last more than four hours....

    yeup

    true, true...

been so long since I've eaten there...the one in my town closed, what, 8 years ago? (surprised there ever was one in such a small town), and haven't had opportunity to go since. But I do remember I liked it a lot, but my wife doesn't, so I have to go alone when I want it, and the only time I'm near one is when we're all together, so it (and naturally, all my other suggestions) are irrelevant

I once had my girlfriend start to watch Zardoz with me, and acted like every thing made perfect sense. I strung her along for about a half hour before she realized it really wasn't going to get any better!

We watched another classically bad movie last night...

    War Goddess.

It was an old movie about an Amazon queen who falls in love with a Greek king. Lots of gratuitous nudity from a pre-silicon era, with at least two nude fight scenes, so it had its high points.

Actually, bad acting aside, if you had taken the nudity out, it might have ended up being pretty decent. It's one of those movies where the nudity kind of cheapens the story. Still, it was good b-movie fun. I think I gave it 4 stars.

Then, right before bed, we watched Rowan Atkinson Live (freshly available for streaming yesterday). I've seen it before, but I still laughed through the whole thing. That man is a comic genius.

    Rut.

My heart just isn't in being at work today. Not that it is most days. I'm settling into a melancholy. It's been awhile since I've been in a funk, so I guess I'm doing pretty good, and I was able to enjoy those movies last night, but I just have this general "bleh" attitude right now.

I recognize that I need to be more ambitious in my life and in persuing my goals, but then I can't seem to motivate myself to actually do anything toward that end. I see house repairs that need to happen (that I can't afford), I see career goals that I need to reach for, and I see general self-improvements (both spiritual and physical) that I need to make. It's like the great big everything is just too overwhelming and all I want to do is ignore it and maybe it will go away. I know full well that strategy doesn't work, but I can't bring myself to care.

I wouldn't call it depression... it's not really strong enough of a feeling to call it that... it's more of a morose sort of vague-ish apathy kind of thing.

It's like living in a perpetual Tuesday.

have you seen Dark Star by John Carpenter yet? It screams "classically bad."

do you exercise? I'm not talking about anything big- even just taking a walk in the evening helps my mood.

The consolidation of everything for the upcoming move continues.

Last night the straights went buh-bye.

Next most of the shotguns and my Grand Cherokee.

    Things are looking up.

I will occasionally spend a few minutes walking the property, but nothing regular. Again, exercise sort of falls into the apathy trap... Just don't feel like being bothered to do it.

I know the feeling, all. too. well.
though some days I would call mine scarily close to borderline depression, but I've always been able to count my blessings and at least get back to the "meh" level.
should be a lot higher, I know, but I'm letting the physical have victory over the spiritual way too much lately.

and it is overwhelming, so much that needs to be done, so difficult to make that first step.

all I can say is bathe it deep in prayer
Exercise is one of the major "need to do but it's so overwhelming" things on my list, unfortunately :ashamed001
