    I loathe printers.

They break at the most inopportune times. Finding the name of the separation pad for the manual pickup tray and how to repair it until I can order a maintenance kit really made me think of Office Space except I wish I had a shotgun.

    Indeed

    ...is an exercise in futility.

And I feel your pain. Have a printer here that has some damage on one of the transfer rollers, but have had no success in finding that specific part's part number, or even common name....so far in my experience, such a circumstance indicates it's probably cheaper, or close to it, to just replace the entire printer as it is just for the part, and the frustration of installing it.

File this under the "I was once emphatically against it, but by now almost double-emphatically for it" category...a single, high capacity, network color printer.

That one is now my kids' favorite. For the past 3 weeks, it's a constant "Can we watch Popcorn? Can we?" etc.
Either fortunately or unfortunately (both, really), my son has figured out how to get to youtube on the Wii and watch it...

I've got a couple waiting for that treatment, too.

Actually, I'm thinking they'd make good anchors....

Daughter watches youtube videos on her Cruz while wearing headphones. :D

I got sick of the same Lego Star Wars videos and the John Williams tribute over and over and over and over..... Yup... one of those aspie/autism traits.

Speaking of which, she had a major meltdown at school which was complicated/caused by idiots not following directions. So that has made today a fun and depressing day.

Now, I think I may watch office space tonight just for the destruction of printers... Meanwhile, I have a paper jam to deal with.

    If I go try to use my printer(s) and it/they has/have trouble, I'm blaming all y'all. :p

My mom cracked a rib and isn't feeling well. I just got ditched for the second week in a row and now have nothing to do this weekend. I have a 15 hour day tomorrow and I can't sleep.

    I'd say things are peachy.

    Yay Jim!

Last night was just a bad night. Wife was training for new position at work and got the call to pick up daughter at her school after her meltdown brought on by staff's inability to follow procedures that work with daughter. Hmmm... hover over an autistic child lecturing her about her behavior when she is having frustration issues then when she gets more upset put her in a hold when you know she is tactilely defensive and act shocked when her behavior becomes aggressive and escalates for an hour, then suspend her because while being pinned down she lashes back at staff? Then we she starts to calm down, pick a verbal argument with her and act surprised that she gets upset again? Seriously????

Ugh... so to say the least, last night was a bad night and I got far less sleep than usual. It is going to be a long day.

That's why we homeschool ours. While, one of the reasons anyway. I definitely feel for you, I can't imagine my kid in public school with her eeriely similar issues. When I have some more time I need to get a PM to you.

I am looking forward to 11:30 PM when I am done for the day.

If anyone is interested, in a little under 12 hours we will be doing a 3 hour live broadcast. It is an award show (Tony style) to recognize and reward exceptional accomplishments in the production and performance of musical theatre in local high schools.

Welp, just finished getting the fourth set of new tires in the past <2 years, 3rd new pair caused by screwed up alignment on the rear.

    TL;DR version:
Took it to the place that did the alignment, got the expected response of can't help you, but if you buy new tires, I'll do the alignment for free.
Went somewhere else, fixed it up right for less than other place for tires alone.

    Full, lightly abridged, version:
When the first flat occurred just under two years ago, went to the only place that was still that evening, they didn't have the tire I needed, but their location in Texarkana did, so off I go.
New tires on the front, old front tires to the rear.
About a month or so later, one of the other tires blows.
Go to the place I prefered to go first time, but was closed.
Same song and dance, new tires to the front, the now month old tires to the rear.
This is when guy at this place mentioned how bad the alignment on my rear tires were. Top of tire leans in rather significantly, but I'd seen several similar vehicles of similar year with similar issue, kinda thought it looked bad, but at that time had figured maybe it's designed to sit like that unloaded, with weight they would square out.
Anyway, he described the issue, what it would cost, but said he couldn't do it anytime soon.
Then said it would cost about $300.....holy carp, I'll have to wait a couple months.
Went to the other place, asked about alignment - $85.
    Aligned.
A few months pass, notice still having the same issue, wear on the inside of rear tires, go back to place that did alignment, they don't do anything to stand by their work, go back to preferred place, get new tires, ready to do their alignment, but their guy is out that day.
    Well, crap.
Well, hafta get new tires, I'll schedule a time to come get the alignment done.
Little did I know that this was right in the middle of Hell Year for us, financially, and thus, it never happened.
Flash forward to this past Saturday, I notice the cords are showing on the rear tires yet again.
Decide I'll go one more time to place that did alignment, if they offer to make things right, I'll give 'em another chance.
I didn't expect them to, and they didn't fail to meet that expectation.
Go to another place that a friend recommended yesterday.
I tell them the saga, the guy takes one look, "Yeup..."
So, for the cost of new tires alone at the other two places, because he does a lot of business for the guy that recommended me and gave me a good deal, I got the tires, alignment, AND the bolt kit that the previously preferred place had said it needed, that other place never even mentioned, and still came out cheaper.

So, really sucks that I had to buy new tires, but now they sit good and square, and I know that under normal circumstances and wear and tear, I won't have to deal with tire crap (besides rotations) for a good, long, normal while...maybe God will bless them with extra long life this time to make up for all the crud that's gone on with the last 6.....ehh, probably not with the crappy attitude I let the situation put me in in the first place :ashamed001

And, getting a new (to me) car today. Loan situation worked out almost exactly as I'd hoped, and wife is going to get to teach summer school, so we'll get to pay off several things to help, so maybe things are starting to swing in the right direction now for a little bit.

Justin, sorry to hear about your crappy day yesterday, I think my boy may be borderline autistic, and now I kinda think that may be (part of) what's been wrong with me all these years, but it's very minor and manageable.
I can't imagine what those teachers/workers were thinking in that situation. Were these people that had never worked with your daughter before? That's the only partly acceptable excuse for their actions I can think of, otherwise, yeah, that's pretty damn messed up.
Hopefully today will be much better for y'all.

Hmmm, "raise" and "bonus" :think002...gonna hafta google that, be right back....

    ...clickety clickety....

Damn, just what I suspected, one of those things that don't happen for me.
    Well, monetarily anyway.
The only "raise" I tend to get is a middle finger, and the only "bonus" I ever get is when they throw in the "raise" on the other hand, too. :D

All kidding aside, congratulations, that's awesome man!
    Especially uplifting when it's unexpected
