8th grade graduation tonight... I played Brahms Academic Festival Overture for the crowd as they filed in. I felt a certain smugness at the subversiveness of it. I'm such a geek.

The ceremony went well, hit all my cues, etc.

Afterward, people were lingering. The super and the high school principal were lamenting the fact that a handful of people weren't leaving, so I jokingly offered to play some techno to drive them away. The principal suggested that I blast a little rap at them... then it hit me.

The Superintendent smiled and said "Reeeaaalll subtle, Micah, real subtle."

    Here's what I played:

Just got back from Mal-Wart, checking prices on car battery (more on that later), then went through electronics...they're now selling Kindles and Nooks there - well, they're "now" selling them at *our* Wal-Mart, anyway. And further, right beside it is the layout prints for the display that will be there, and it showed 10 and 7 inch Acer tablets, kinda coolish.

Now, onto the car battery...picked up the Bonneville this afternoon, but it needs a new battery. So, sitting at my parents' house, won't crank, popped the hood, looked around for a couple of minutes....where the crap is the battery?!?!
After a bit of digging, finally found it....under the freakin' back seat!!!
    Crap the what?!?!

Thanks, it helps knowing others go through the same things. I wish home school would work for us. Next year she will be in my building so I am really hopeful things will go better but am scared at the same time.
    Woo Hoo indeed!
Yeah on finding someplace to get that alignment and other work done with new tires for a good price! Yay for getting things worked out to have the 2nd working car!

Yeah, yesterday went better. Daughter had an excellent day. Wife and I are still upset, but daughter was just like none of it happened.
No, it was just the rest of the day on Wednesday thankfully. And yes, my wife really wanted to knock heads together when she picked daughter up. On top of everything else, wife got a phone call to come get daughter ASAP, had to leave work and drive the 20 minutes to get there. Once at daughter's school, they wouldn't let wife take her. They wanted daughter to calm down first. To say the least, wife did not put up with that nonsense.

Umm... it couldn't have worked. Yeah maybe the message was "Beat it". But it was Pomplamoose!

Well... that is where you keep it when you are prepping a car for a derby. OK, usually that is the front seat... Well, I guess that would give the kids a charge?

Target still has an electronics department? I thought it had just become weird home decorations, lawn ornaments, and clothing... Oh wait... mine now has a grocery store and an alcohol aisle too. Oh wait... they do have a movie aisle between the Pharoah Lego sets and the barbie dolls. I really hate our new Target.

Apparently all that showed up in my last post was what I was quoting, so I'll rewrite. I am in awe of the selection and would love to be able to blast that at parents and the occasional student

Yeah, I thought about derby and dirt track and NASCAR, and all they're various locations for batteries, but found it odd at first for a passenger car.
The more I think about it, though, the more sense it makes, really

I saw it, not too impressive, I thought. Not that it ever was, but, blah.
Have you seen TXK Walmart's renovations? Man, they rearranged the heckes out of that place...and a big, giant, worship_Steve_Jobs alter or crApple stuff right in the middle...bleh

Been there, done that before. Sorry to hear about the long day, but glad you survived! :D (and have the integrity and character to show up on time the next day...but, could we really expect less from a fellow Den'izen?

Yeah, our Target isn't the greatest either, but it's better than....well, umm, I guess the Dollar Store :happy102

I hear ya! Mine's been out twice this month! The last time was just the other night. It went out around 2:30 and was out for almost 2 hours. The funny thing is it was complete chaos when it went out. In other words, my girls' sound machine and night light went off so they both woke up and started to cry and scream...

Who knew the power going out in the middle of the night, when your asleep, could be so inconvenient....

Actually, I was talking about their acer tablets. They've got 10 and 7 inch already.

And yes, the new walmart layout is... something.

    *raises hand*
I did. When the power goes out in the middle of the night while you're asleep, and it's the middle of July in Texas, believe me, you'll know, quick :D

Huh, I didn't see them, was just in there Monday.
But, Staples does have the Acer 10", I really like the aluminum back on it, I'm kinda leaning that way, if I don't wait to see what the Amazon tablet is like...

EDIT: Also, I thought Acer put the kibosh, or at least a delay, on the 7 inch tablet? Target actually has some in stock? Do you remember the price?

I remember seeing a slot for the 7 inch and they had some fliers that mentioned the 7 inch tablet. I don't recall explicitly seeing any in stock, but it sure looked like they were building up to it. They were down the same aisle as the Kindles, IIRC.

I'm waiting on the Transformer. I know that they're not available anywhere, but by the time we have the money for one, they should be.
