Oh yeah, I completely forgot to mention...thanks to Justin's input, I figured it out, and I concur with both Jason and Justin's remarks above...

But there can never be too much eye candy, eh? :D

yeup, but please do share! I'd hate to deprive you of the enjoyment of enlightenment!

In other news...Yay! The gas grill lives again! Not that it'll ever replace the charcoal grill, but it most certainly does have its benefits and conveniences

Also, I have a source for dirt for the installation of the pool....I just have to procure the means for transference.
And I need to get the location ready....maybe this raid will help moisten a few cillimeters of soil and make digging tomorrow a tad easier...we shall see

    Hey Justin.....did you see this?

Did I see it personally, no. But I heard it was spotted. We not getting much rain at the moment but a LOT of lightning so far. However, it keeps coming down on us from over the lake. If you are looking at a weather map, we are located about 12 miles south of southern tip of the lake. At the moment, one of those cells is just West of us.

Daughter's baseball game only managed one inning tonight. It started at 87 and full sun. 30 minutes later it was dark clouds and a fork of lightning was seen. Game over...

here's the explanation. watch me get it wrong:

it comes from the church calendar. Major feasts are printed in red. So events like the Christmas, Easter, the Pentecost= red letter days.

    Nice set of new filters!

So, I don't know if it is simply my "oddly shaped head" or "klingon cranium" but it is turning out to be much more difficult to get a smooth, clean shave on my noggin than on my neck, and I thought my neck was a pain. By noon I have a 5 o'clock shadow across the back of my dome and it shows up really bad in pics (especially in the back of the head). Oh well, I think the experiment is about to draw to a close.

Wow, yesterday's weather forcasts were WAY off! First of all, it was supposed to be a little storm last night and then clear today with temps in the upper 90s with heat index well over 100. Instead... we have had constant severe storms all night and through this point today and at least for another 2 hours. We have flooding. We have a current temp of 67. Yup.. I think Tom Skilling (Chicago meteorologist) really nailed that one!

hey, I'd go for 67 degrees and some heavy rain about right now...

in other news, I'm moving to Mission, TX to take over a church. Found a house today. Got a move date today: July 18th packers arrive, July 19th the stuff leaves the house, July 21st or so our stuff arrives at our new home.

So I'm gonna go be a Texan. How serious are y'all about that whole secession thing? There's a bulletin board up in houston and everything.

Well, we had a plan today of doing a little wheel-twistin', some Goodwill donatin', and some Little Ceasar's eatin'.

Well, we jumped online to check the money situation, first--as is our habit.

What the!?! There were two seperate fees charged to our account. One for "excessive withdrawal" and another for "Average Daily Balance."

One phone-call later and we started doing some math to figure out how much it would cost us in a year to continue banking at an establishment that didn't do a good job of warning us that this new fee schedule was going into effect. The nature of my pay and my bill cycle pretty much ensures that every month I'll get hit with fees. I can't afford $42 a month just for banking.

So one more phone call later, and I was on my way to close one account and open another at a rival credit union.

I hate making big life affecting choices on such short notice, but I think we made the right move.

In all the confusion and rushing about, I forgot to take my second pill for the day, and I'm feeling entirely overwhelmed by the world, I'm anxious, and I'm ridiculously worried about money.

Anybody need some jewelry? TWGW hasn't had a sale in quite some time.

On an up note, I found that I can get typewriter ribbons locally, and I picked a book up at the goodwill that includes information on typewriter repair and maintenance.

Wow, ^^^^^that^^^^^^ sure is a wall of text...

tl;dr: Changed banks, forgot my pill, and had great pizza. I'm tired.

SWMBO has to work today...wouldn't be a terrible thing except she has to be to work at 6:30 and our wonderful four legged child didn't realize I would still be able to sleep in. Well, her snooze button continued to malfunction, so I was up way to early for a Saturday. At least I got to just relax with a nice pot of coffee and not worry about rushing out the door. Had a great breakfast of corned beef hash, an egg, and toast to accompany the brew. Now off to shower, I guess I'll shave , and hit an antique store that I was informed might have more than I thought razor wise :D.

Tonight heading to see the towns fireworks, because they are too good to celebrate on the 4th like everyone else.

Man, you freakin' me out...just checked my account at that establishment, I don't see anything out of the ordinary, but now I'm worried.

More fees ain't good, we're already considering dropping insurance next year, not what we want, but it's too dang expensive and keeps going higher, while both our pay scales are frozen for the next year.

It almost doesn't pay to be an honest, hard working American anymore

My pup had the same issue this morning. The gym doesn't open until 7am on the weekends, but at 4:37 AM, the pooch decided that she wanted to play and everyone had to get up and play with her. I would have slept later, but that choice was ripped from my grasp by a psychotic 10 yr old.

On a bright note, I finished my 3rd week at the gym. I am down two pounds, a couple inches on the waist, and my cardio has rebounded and I am doing near an hour a day. I attribute my years of cycling and velodrome racing for the quick cardio turn around. I am a happy camper although I realized my scale is not calibrated correctly and I need to lose 7 more pounds then I thought. Rome wasn't built in a day.

What a pain in the arse. I am sure that the bank will get thunderous applause by lawmakers as finding inventive ways to excel.

OK.... so wood workers... got a question for you..

Daughter's 4-H wood working project requires her to use a t-bevel to hand drill holes that are 5 degrees off a right angle (yeah, I know 85 or 95 degrees) for an adjustable book shelf slider. Any clue how to make that an accomplishable task for a child that is easily frustrated. No, I don't have access to a drill press over the summer (at least I don't think I do). If she does it by the lack of directions, she is supposed to use a t-bevel and a drill. I have a lot of half-cooked ideas on making this work for her. However, best I am coming up with is using the t-bevel to slant a piece of wood as 5 degrees from level, brace the drill against a back prop so she has to drill straight down, and make a jig. However... with only a 5 degree slant, a 9/16 hole, and pine boards... will such a slight jig be of any use for her? Crud, I wish I had a chunk of oak laying around for the jig.

    any thoughts?

Yeah, I know. Apparently, if your Average Daily Balance drops below $500, it's a 5 dollar fee. (Add up your balance from each day --$1000+$950+$945+$945+$940.73, etc. then divide by the number of days into the account cycle you are---say 25=your ADB). The "Excessive Withdrawal fee" is something like after 12 transactions they start charging you a $1 per. (this might just be automatic transfers from savings to checking, but it's free at RRFCU).

We have a habit of dropping all our money into savings and then just letting it draft over to checking as needed. Probably not the best habit, and since we've switched banks, we're going to change that habit, but the way some of our drafts were set up, we pretty much had to do it that way to ensure that everyone would get paid.

    Keep an eye on it.

Well 4H projects are on hold for now. Daughter has been tracking Zuri (the baby giraffe at Cincinnati zoo) since Zuri was born. She got an adoption package for Easter, we went to see Zuri in May coincidentally the week Zuri broke her leg.... and they put Zuri down yesterday. Her broken leg had gotten much worse. Daughter is heart-broken and just went through a box of kleenex.

    it never has.

to continue the early wake up stories, I'm now on vacation for two weeks before we move. In theory I could sleep in. However, the children, aged three and five, don't seem to grasp the concept of sleeping past 0600. I got up with them at 0615 this morning. I do this most every morning, though.

    that stinks.

Oh yeah, I forgot to mention...Transformers 3 was excellent, IMO. The best one of the the 3, for sure.

I'm surprised by this. A threequel that's good? Unpossible! I say.

On a semi-related note, I still can't believe that they opened 4th of July weekend with Transformers and not with Captain America. That's just almost unforgivable.
