Well, I spent the weekend cleaning out my old house, got rid about about 90% of my junk! Makes me happy and sad at the same time.

This is because of the drought that has been going on really since last winter. The water table is exhausted because there has not been rain.
Many of the wells have simply gone dry and this is a severe issue for many people who have well water in the state.

My dad's dog died today on his 72nd birthday.

It was strange as she was fine and all of a sudden wasn't....

    Not a fun afternoon.

    Dale,
I'm sure in 72 years your dad has seen his share of loss. I hope it hasn't made it hurt less, but made him stronger. Not fun certainly, yet such events do more to shape who we are than the easy days. I hope it's shaping you and your dad for the better (and I'm confident it is).

Aerodynamically, the bumble bee shouldn't be able to fly, but the bumble bee doesn't know it so it goes on flying anyway.

Got word yesterday that the Mal-Wart in next town over (~22 miles) has 3 positions open in electronics (and some others) and will be hiring soon, part time hours, mainly for the holidays, but the 3 electronics positions are because people quit.
So, the dilemma...do I pursue the extra, badly needed, hours/money, even for just the holidays?
I already asked, it will be enough hours to make up for fuel cost to get there, and still make a difference in income, or just keep trying to make the best of things as they are, and keep what little family time during the week there is?

Uggh. Especially during the holidays when everything is so busy, and with the added question of some major equipment upgrades that's going to require extra time of me during Thanksgiving and Christmas breaks....

And another mind-bender: I haven't received an "official" call yet, but word is my previous boss may be calling me soon, due to a recent letting-go of an employee.....

Wish I had a place to go, and time and fundage, to go somewhere and fast and meditate without distraction for a few days.
As it is, I may have to put a poll up on TSD instead....:)

    Hapy Halloween Everybody!

Today is always a gongshow and I usually end up grumpy by the end of the day. It is my wife's birthday today, and we had her party on Friday. I have given up the idea of ever celebrating her birthday, on her birthday. My oldest is really sick, and poor soul, she wakes up anytime between 3 and 5 in the morning thinking it is time to get up, and is all confused. I hope she is doing better today though. She has almost lost her voice and is croaking around the place. Nonetheless, the kids are SUPER excited to go Trick-or-Treating!

    Happy Halloween, everyone!
Got to leave work about half an hour early so i can gey new tags for my truck. Why would a chamber of commerce close shop at 4:30? Who gets off that early?

This thread needs more distraction girl goodness.

Today's C&H was decent. Not the best, but far from the worst too...

    Even though it's Monday.

    Today is pretty awesome.

we checked the well and it had enough water that we could reprime the pump. Praise God. We are now on double extreme water ration, though. At least bathing at our friend's house gets us some good meals and much needed fellowship.

Wow...I don't know if things could get any worse!

My wife lost her phone last night when we were out with our kids. We remotely installed a GPS tracking app and it got us a reading within 7 meters of it's last signal...Note: I turned my GPS on ant it was bang on as to where I was, so I didn't doubt the margin of error related to my wife's signal...I went knowcking on the house the signal was comming from and the lady claimed to not speak english and told me to talk to her neighbor. So I did. He didn't understand her claim of not understanding, as he said she understands just fine.

Meanwhile I was in contact with the police (taking advice as to what to do next), and they sent out a car. The car came like 2.5 hours later and the cops couldn't care less. I showed them the GPS trace (how it narrowed down the location from 60 meters to 7 meters) and he asked where the signal was comming from. I told him "My wife's phone!" (duh!!). He didn't believe me and thought the marker was a tree or signpost...I tried to tell him it was the phone but they didn't really listen/or care. They knocked on the house I had been to (only a minute before the outside lights had been turned off) and claimed people were asleep (with bedroom lights on). They told me it was unfortunate and sent me on my way....nice!:angry032:

So my day is going pretty well (sarcasm). I got home, helped my sick daughter, got 2 hours of sleep, and woke up furious about the injustice of it all! True it was 2:30 am when they rang the bell, but to not listen to me when I had waited outside of this house for 3 hours...surely that should have counted towards something and been a testiment of me being serious about what I was talking about!:angry019:

Sorry for the rant and rage! I have made posters showing the GPS signal location, posted it online under lost and founds, and killed the service to the phone. The bad thing is we had great pics of our kids on the phone, but at least we have an extended warranty that covers this kind of thing (too some degree).
