Okay... so I open up one of these brand new computers (purchased against my recommendation), drop in the extra ram chip, get everything plugged in and sitting on my desk, and then turn it on.

What the!?! My desk starts vibrating in this low, rumbly sort of way. I recognize it immediately and put my hand on the new computer... sure enough, it feels like there's a disc inside the dvd drive.

Hit eject.

Out pops a Chinese Karaoke blu-ray disc.

Out of a brand new computer. Glad to see that HP is really sticking to their reputation for quality control.

no, not that one, there was an actual product somewhere that just had all kinds of crazy comments that just ridiculous and hilarious (although the dihydrogen monoxide discussion was fun, too)

I might be doing a book cover for an e-book! I can't really tell you more than that, nor can I show you the cover. Let's keep our fingers crossed.

Well, wife/daughter were bad enough they didn't go to work/school yesterday and was finally able to get into the doctor after a 2 day wait. Wife has sinus/eye infection daughter has two ear infections. I feel like I have some of each of those... bleh...

 

I got the official "holiday" cover! With a few minor tweaks, it will probably be the year-round cover as well!

BTW: when picking up antibiotics and all form the pharmacy I found these gems.. I am thinking about going back to get some more boxes...

update: Pop made it out of surgery okay, there was some fluid in the mass, but they think it's most likely benign.

Now, they're having another fire sale (though this time refurbs, but still...$99), and guess what? Yeup, precisely the weekend before payday.
