Electrical problems with my truck. Not the battery.
Gotta get it into Pep Boys this morning.
Hope it's a cheap fix.

 

My last Monday of work at this school district, going back to my previous employer. Pretty sad to leave here, some good friends, a nice community, and some HOT teachers....but, I'll be back home, with a shorter drive, much less fuel cost, with my wonderful kids and BEAUTIFUL wife (gotta emphasize that, since I mentioned the attractive teachers here, just to make sure no one gets the wrong impression...it's been nice to work with them, but they ain't my wife....kinda like going to the steak house, the cheese sticks are great, but they're nothing compared to the steak and taters coming soon )

Hate that I'm having to work the first week of what's supposed to be Christmas break, but the way they figured my payout for here, ending right before the break, my check would've been just slightly above half what it normally is...and thus, now you know the biggest stress of last week.
Fortunately, they agreed to let me work this week.

So, nose the the grindstone once again (kiss my grits, Micah, when you finally wake up and read this on your day off....we a need a mooning smiley...)

 

Oh, also....hardly slept a wink last night.

About 10:00 our son comes into our bedroom complaining about his head hurting real bad and his stomach hurting...
First thoughts through my mind....oh crap, here we go with the stomach bug, gonna be a long night....my wife's tired and needs to sleep, but I CAN'T get sick, I have to go to work each day this week (remember above, they're doing me a huge favor letting me work this week, and since it won't be considered a "normal" week, if I don't come in, I don't get paid for the day).....my dad had the virus earlier this week - our family get together Saturday was at my parents' house....great, now we'll all get it.....
and so forth.

Made it through the night without incident. Wow.

I'm not hypochondriacal or anything, but this stomach bug....I'd rather have almost anything than that. First time we got it, when out daughter was about 2, and my wife was pregnant, was the week from Hell. Worse than Hurricane Mig-ayle, Micah.
Seriously, we've had a stomach bug several times since then (having kids, it's hard to avoid it), but I've said it several times since then - if we ever get it that bad again, just shoot me. I don't want to endure or recover from that monster again.
That said, you can understand my jumpiness anytime the kids complain about their stomach hurting....

 

One more thing...today's Amazon free app is Little Piano pro. I'm not advertising it, not interested in getting it, but I bring it up because a troll showed up in the comments bringing up how a piano app is inappropriate because of deaf people.
(one commenter did happen to mention Beethoven, though )

 

But Beethoven lost his hearing later in life...Anyway that was random of me.

Today is the last day I work before My Christmas break! I am stuck with a love/hate feeling about today's Monday. I love it because it is only a 1 day work week, but I hate it because why did I even have to come in?

If so the world would be a much better place...well not as awkward at least...(the injection of common sense would be staggering and have people take a step back and think "What is going on? These men have common sense!")

We sent a one of those a couple of different years to my parents and my in-laws with me, my wife, and our son. It was a lot of fun and they really enjoyed it a lot. You can't help but smile.

 

Missed you guys been out of town for a long weekend. To have Christmas with family. Great to visit and great to be home.

 

Today was a great day. My stock certificate for the Green Bay Packers arrived by UPS. Now, I have get a custom frame made for it. SWMBO doesn't want me to spend the money on the custom frame. She told me to go to Target and buy a frame so I can frame it myself. How bad would that look. I want the certficate in a frame and on dark green matting. That would look classy.

 

I think I have one sitting under the tree.... (a Packers certif... not a custom frame).. interested to see what you end up doing...

 

The price tag on that led me to seek out less expensive (free) alternatives, whereupon I found www.smashwords.com/books/view/43498 not sure about it, but it sounds interesting. I like the idea of the Christian angle on the topic.

 

Nope. It was the battery.
Battery had busted post. Took out the alternator.
Serpentine belt was squealing so that had to be replaced.
Thank the Lord for my Christmas bonus.

 

You can get much of the same information free at Art of Manliness. I can't say I agree 100% with the site's opinions, but overall I'm glad it exists.

 

Okay, so I got a micro sd card for my tablet and finally downloaded a legitimate copy of the netflix app. I thought I'd try to find something to watch that twgw wouldn't be too interested in. I stumbled across a tv show spinoff of the Barbershop movies. I went in with low expectations as the movies are a guilty pleasure and I doubted the tv show, though rated r, could capture the flavor of the movies.

Wow! They did a decent job.

 

A few minutes of boredom at work and some marginal photoshop skills equal a christmas card.
