since I haven't had that experience, it's hard for me to say how that compares to burying your family dog of 11+ years

Chilling with twgw's fam for the Holiday. New meds are keeping me mellow, so far.

You must be psychic. I recently turned 50 and today I had my first colonoscopy.

    Yes, today sucked ass.

Hi all. Been a while. Just wanted to drop in and say "Merry Christmas!" to you all. And if you don't observe Christmas, then just have a good day, I suppose?

I've gone and done it now. I told one of the sprogs "no." She was trying to get in twgw's overnight kit that had a loaded razor in it. It hurt her feelings, and now Momma's going to be royally pissed at me the rest of the day for "scolding" her child.

I wasn't scolding, though...just said, "no ma'am, we don't need in there, there's stuff that can hurt us in there."

Sheez. You'd think I beat the rugling.

I am alive, have a roof over my head, food on the table, good friends and both my parents are still alive. Those things alone make the day good beyond measure. Heck, any day that starts with a traditional wetshave isn't all bad, and that is the worst case scenario.

You're not gonna tell Momma she needs a serious attitude adjustment? Man, you must have the patience of a saint. I wouldn't put up with that nonsense for a second.

Never again. I made that mistake once. Turned into a couple of years worth of drama. We're still shaky from it.

heh. my philosophy these days is "do the right thing and let the rest sort itself out" and then I ask "can I live with myself after I do this?"

For what it's worth, I'd be extremely angry with you if you didn't stop my children from digging in your private things, much less picking up a loaded razor.

Well, all things considered, everything was better than anticipated. Merry Christmas!

exactly. we've gone from a nation of people that get offended if you don't stop their children (or them) from doing something that's either dangerous, or none of their damn business, to the point of people are offended if you don't let their children do whatever they they want.
    it's a shame.

still a rough weekend. the kids (and my wife), have always sung happy birthday to Jesus, and to Max, on Christmas Day. Gonna be a tough one for them tomorrow.

Good night all, and MERRY CHRISTMAS

not trying to be dense (it's a state of being for me) but Max is you recently passed dog, right?

I'm sorry. seems to be the year for rough merry christmases. but no matter what happens, it's still a good day when you remember the reason.

Okay all you androiders, here's one for you: is there a way I can stream audio from my pc to my tablet?

yes. there are several, actually. do a search, there's Plex, and also Subsonic (haven't tried them yet), and other options, but those two stick out in my mind

Been helping out the Sister In Law and hardly home for the past several days. Did take a break for Christmas, but she's moving out of a rental house into an apartment to save money. The In-Laws did most of the moving while I was working, but I was around for painting and cleaning.

At lease we took of Christmas, which was very nice. I've never seen a Christmas Day come together so well. In particular with some rather stressful and tense things going on around it.

Starting to learn some of this mac os stuff (lose Control, gain Command...gotta remember that bit since I use it a lot). Need to find some tutorials or something. Going to be going through Apple certification stuff soon, I'd rather have a good base of familiarity with it, or I won't remember much.

Gotta say, this I7 powered, 8 GB RAM, SSD hard drive MacBook Pro is blazing fast....still, I can't wait to get Win7 loaded on here though. And Ubuntu. But it's better I don't have 'em yet so I'll actually use the Mac OS (kinda like when I got a laptop awhile back that had Vista on it, I made myself wait to dual boot XP so I'd actually use Vista and get familiar with it)

Mike: yes, Max was our dog. Wife still has her Shih Tzu, but I refuse to play with a dog whose toys are smarter than it.

Wife and kids are doing well, I'm still having moments I'm struggling through, I got kinda stoic that day so I could make it through, but it's the little things that have come up since then that have gotten me choked up - like when I'd go to the bathroom and he'd try to hurry in behind me, I still find myself holding the door a second for when I'd try not to hit him. Probably the hardest was Friday night, had the in-laws over for Christmas, I dropped to food on the floor and out of habit started to call Max.
Stupid human-pet attachments....but, they wouldn't be so special if not for it, eh?

Other than that, busy busy busy busy....need my two weeks to be off, but I'd rather have one week off and enough money to make it the month, than two weeks off and not.
