sol92258 I have no earthly idea

well...no, not really, that wasn't my point, although we did get a teensy fraction of an bit last night. 30 miles north of us got a pretty decent fall - it didn't stick to anything but bridges there, but it did actually have "wintry mix precipitation".

I just saw the picture and thought it was hilarious :)

That is a bit ironic notice, though :)

Put up a fixed version of my ship picture... I can't believe I made such a glaring error.

Huh... this is actually a trailer for a real movie... I am not sure if I really want to see it or not.

based on a book. Somehow, that makes it worse.

yeah... I wasn't impressed with a lot of the negative reviews of the book, and at $10 for a kindle book (seriously?), I am going to pass on the book. I hate it when the kindle version costs more than the print version.

We need pay our business taxes online and somehow the State of PA website is inaccessible. Nothing in my firewall, called our isp and our ip is not blacklisted, can get to it through a proxy and my phone using 3g, but not through my network. This is beginning to seriously annoy me when I tonnes of other crap to get done. Yet here I am posting about it.

Well... I did it. I spent a buttload of money on myself. Bought a PS3 and a few used games last night. Got Assassin's Creed, Arkham Asylum, Shawn White Snowboarding, Rise of the Argonauts, and Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. Wow, I don't remember games ever being this complicated to learn the controls. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it, but some of these are just ridiculous.

My nephew has a 360, and so does Doug, but I really like the PS-series of systems, and the game selection on them is pretty cool, so I went for another sony--the free online gaming was just a minuscule part of the impetus. The ability to play blu-rays was another factor. The DVD selection is thinning, and the blu-rays are growing in the stores, so I figure it's only a matter of time before I have to make the switch. Also, you can netflix through the PS3... so there's that.

Anyway, I'm nervous as heck about the purchase, as it was a huge one, but I think I'll get my fun's worth out of it.

Last day of work this week...then a 5 day weekend! Strangely I don't feel motivated at all to do anything.

Yes, thanks for the advice. I've had two cups so far. The first one I followed the directions and think I was too high on the grounds to water ratio. It was still good, but went a little toward the bitter side. Went with fewer beans the second time (this morning) and it turned out wonderful. Both cups were diluted to match roughly the strength I make my drip coffee. Both cups also used hand ground right before brewing Carribou blend beans.

Based on how it pulls slightly different flavors, I think I'll enjoy it even more with different beans than the Carribou blend I'm using right now. I expect the Costa Rican beans I have in the cue will really pop in the Aeropress.

Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter was a great book. Yeah, the Kindle price is stupid for it. Still, if you find it cheap I highly recommend it.

The movie on the other hand, I'm rather suspect about.

I had a migrane creep up on me today; I want to crawl into a black hole.

On a lighter note, I went home for lunch and my dog ate my McD's crispy ranch chicken snack wrap off the counter while I hit the 'lil boys room; at least there's a new season of Survivor starting tonight, and I get to watch Diego Sanchez get beat up; for free! thanks UFC. I'm hoping these will keep me distracted from the hockey game as I'm sure my beloved Leafs' are bound for another notch in the "L" column :(

I just enrolled, but honestly the diffy q, calc, and E & M requirements worry me. I took those courses 20 years ago... Yeah I teach math, but 7th grade math isn't the same.

Do any of you guys have a PS3? Should I bother signing up for the Playstation Network? They got hacked like 4 times in the last year, so I'm a little leery, but they do have some pretty neat downloads available. I don't really have any friends with a playstation who I can play games with/against online, so I'm not sure if I should sign up. Also, what are some good games? I've got Arkham Asylum, Assassin's Creed, Tony Hawks Proving Ground, Shawn White's Snowboarding, and Rise of the Argonauts. I really enjoyed the God of War games on ps2, but I hear GOW3 is kind of a letdown.

    Any thoughts?

Seriously, why don't they just change the name from WOOT! to THE-DYSON-STORE!?

So the mysterious blockage of the state of PA website from work managed to work itself out.

I bet that something was askew at the isp and they just didnt want to say anything to me.

    Duckster Wabbit Season!

Grand Theft Auto IV was the reason I bought a PS3 a few years ago. Great game. For less violent game play, I like Tiger Woods PGA Tour (I have '09), Motor Storm, and Motor Storm Pacific Rift. These are older games and can be purchased used for little $$.

I've had a PS3 since launch, haven't playebd many games in years, been using it as a BD player up until I got YLOD a few weeks ago :angry019:

Anyway, as far as PSN goes, that all depends on how much online activity you'll be into; whether it be gaming, downloading demos/trailers/games etc. I joined, spent a little while downloading game demos and stuff, mainly for the novelty, but it wore off and I hadn't been on in years. I went through the hack updates etc., which was a bit of a pain, but all-in-all not that big of a deal.

As for games, I never got into the violence games, I tried R:FOM and I was always the guy running around shooting up into the air aimlessly. I was more into TW Golf and Motorstorm like Duckster said above. If you like racing games, Motorstorm is AWESOME! Gran Tourismo is an amazing HD car experience, unlike any other. Oh, and you can;t go wrong with Guitar Hero :git:

    Enjoy!!

The PSN is alright for demos and that. I just buy the preloaded PlayStation cards to buy stuff. As for games I only have a few. Singstar, FF13 (the reason I got a PS3), GT 5, and of course Kingdoms of Amalur! KoA is great if you like Everquest type games.

Just finished a 4.5 hour practice exam....not fun! It was awful actually! I got so tired I had to lay down and sleep in the middle of it! With my wife out of town and me watching the kids...night was the only time to do it!

Oh and yes! You read right...I took a nap in the middle of my exam! And although it was practice...I was timed and had to submit it for marks.
