also one of the more expensive. I made the mistake of taking my car to the garage for a routine check. They found lots of things that needed work. Now I'm $800 lighter.

This past month, two vehicles needed brake jobs. Even worse than $800. I know how you feel!

ouch! I swear vehicles, esp. family vehicles, are sentient and plan when they need maintenance for maximum effect.

Oh, and when I was at the garage, the guy called me over to show me the quote for the necessary work. I stood up to go over, and as I was walking over he said, "you know, you might want to sit down." Not a good sign. The $800 was for the necessary work. There was over $1000 more of important but not yet necessary stuff I passed on.

Just about cleaned the whole house. Movers will be here to pack on Monday, Load Tuesday and head to Edmonton that day as well, I'll be hopping on a flight with the wife and kids on Thursday afternoon. We're all looking forward to it, the Army does a good job of taking most of the stress out of moves at least. Now if I hadn't been sniped on eBay for the Schick Injector I wanted to finally try, it would have been the perfect day lol.

In regards to the backstage pics from Shrek...

Huh... how about that. We are in South Bend for weekend for wife's birthday and going to My Fair Lady. What an odd coincidence, there are signs here in the theater for Shrek the musical. I had to share the pic with wife and daughter during intermission. Guess we are gonna go to that one if we end up with season tickets when she gets the Wicked tickets....

Yeah... I will admit it, I go to musicals....

It's freezing here. We had a blizzard over the weekend and it dumped a foot or two of snow. On top pf that my wife and I moved this weekend, so needless to say I wanted to stay in bed this morning.

eesh. it's in the high 70s here. I wanted to stay in bed, too.

So the modem that runs our wireless internet at work began malfunctioning today. I used the available diagnostic tools, which confirmed that the problem was in the modem. I then contacted AT & T tech support. At each step in this process I was encouraged to check out AT&Ts online support to resolve the problem. [rant] If I could get online, then I wouldn't need help! I recognize some folks can now get online via their cell phones, but even if I could do that, then why would I when I can just make a phone call and talk to a person? [/rant]

    okay. I feel better now.

I wish it was that warm here...this morning it was about -22F (-30C)...and currently it is 3F. It would'nt seem so bad if we hadn't had such a mild winter this year. If it was a normal winter then it would be alright. But honestly it was above 0 last week!

double eesh! although folks tell me the run of 70+ degree temps down here is unusual.

Modem story continued: so I went to radio shack and talked with an employee about replacing the power adapter. He strongly suggested buying a new modem and gave me directions to where I could buy one cheaply. (and it wasn't his store!) I bought the modem and set it up with little trouble. Everything's working fine, until...

I go to my office computer which is connected to the network via a wireless adapter. It sees the network but won't connect, even after I enter the correct password. I plug and unplug the adapter repeatedly and then it abruptly starts working. I have no idea of what I did, or if I even did anything. I'm just glad it's working again.

Well... it was one of those days.. I am just getting home 14 hours after going to work.. It wasn't a bad day, just a busy day. Now I am cold like I need to wear my gloves while typing.

Saw the doc this morning... he's changing my meds. Hopefully, the weight gain will be less of an issue after this.
