I've been refered to as an a-hole more times than I can count. I suppose it might be true. In my opinion it isn't that I'm truly an a-hole, but more a matter of me being overly honest and not really giving two craps about what anyone else thinks. Eh. I'm happy with myself.

Sharks won 7-1 last night. Great game. Really fun!

Of all the things to swipe and you took apples. Let me guess someone was making some hootch, weren't they.

I worked the seg unit when I was a caseworker. We fed the inmates in their cells. On certain days they had Chili with cinnamon rolls. Best darn cin rolls I have had, made by the inmates. Everytime they had those us caseworkers had to call the kitchen because we were always shorted 7 cin rolls. Funny that was always the same number of workers we had that day;)

    Mornin', Ryan.

See? And look where it got you. I'm proud of you, Rolls. :p

    Morning, Jen.

Next time, try it with pies instead of apples.

Have a great day, both of you.

And some more packages are going out today.

    Need to clean later, too.

OK, back from walking the dog...45 minutes...feel good...

Yes, I know...I'm going to shower soon...

Look, not all of us were around back when they were still colonizing the "New World"

+1, my wife, in addition to calling my an a$$hole regularly, also says I'm "blunt." Don't ask me something you really don't want to know the cold hard truth to. I figure, if I'm that bad, I must be really good in bed to keep her around for 15 years! :D

We usuall brought back anything we could. Bread, fruit, cake, whatever. Alot of guys used the bread, fruit, and sugar to make hootch. I would be starving by 9:00, so I always hadfood that I would bring back from chow everyday.

By seg, I reckon you are talking about lockup. Yeah, lockup is bad. At least it was back when I was doing my bit. Single man cell, locked in for two days at a time. We would get out of the cell once every other day for a fifteen minute shower. Other than that, we were not allowed to have any personal items, books, writing material, not even a damn blanket. It was just you and your thoughts, which got scary after a few weeks. I went down there once, for six months. That was plenty for me!

That would be just like the Seg I worked in. They could have books and blankets but that is about all. Never made much sense to me. If you take away all books, magazines, letters, etc seems the only thing left to do is go insane and plot bad things to do.

Just looked at the forecast. Friday has a high of 12. Including windchill, seems like we're going to get to -10 this weekend. Time to break out the scarves.

    Agreed.

    Pascal said the following:

Man finds nothing so intolerable as to be in a state of complete rest, without passions, without occupation, without diversion, without effort. Then he feels his nullity, loneliness, inadequacy, dependence, helplessness, emptiness.

    Smart man, that Pascal.

Leaving humans locked up with nothing to do will just lead to further degeneration.

There was a guy down there who had been on lockup for almost ten straight years. I cannot imagine what he must be like to talk to. The thing that makes it so odd is that you never see another person during that time. You know they are there, and can even hear them sometimes, but you never see them. I can still remember thinking that I was dead and was just hearing the voices of the others in hell. With nothing else to occupy the mind, it does start to breakdown after enough time. Upon my being put back into population, I would not talk to anyone for days. And that was only after 6 months in the hole. Imagine being in there for years...................
