I had a couple of gang bangers who had been in seg for 3-4 years at a time. Get out just long enough to come back for 2-3 more years. Last time they got out they decided to have a massive fight with baseball bats on the softball field. First time, I was there anyway, shots got fired from the towers.

Had another guy who thought it was fun to cut himself up. He cut his chest up every time. Had done it so much he didn't have any scar tissue and when we took him to the ER they couldn't stitch him up, just had to leave the wound open and hope it would heal.

 

I reckon alot has changed since I was in. I got 6 months in the hole for walking on the grass. Another guy I know got two years in solitary for spitting at a guard. He was just a kid, really. About 22 years old. He had a head full of gray hair when they brought him back to population.......................

 

Yup.

 

Yeah I could see getting the gray hair. We had plenty of officers who went out of their way to stir things up. I usually didn't put up with that crap and sometimes I would have to set the officers straight more than the inmates. I found that if you treated someone with respect you got their respect back. I didn't play games, if I said I would do something I did it.

I really liked working there just couldn't stand the hours. Never got to see my wife.

Nope. Sometimes, work gets in the way of what's really important.

Yeah. Work here as well. I have too much to do and not enough motivation.

 

Maybe some will feel miserable and resolve to change their ways having come to realize that doing bad results in feeling bad

 

Some do. Like myself. But many also actually lose thier grasp on sanity if left in solitary for too long. They come out and are empty, except for the darkness. And that is when they get worse, much, much worse.

 

That's the idea...but if you're not brought up with a sense of right and wrong, personal responsibility, accountibility, and respect, and discipline, and a sense of shame when you've done wrong, and yes, love, then that hate can consume a person to even worse things.

Deviation from true values leads to bad things.

okay, on to happy thoughts....

just got back from my kids' YES assemblies...straight A's, perfect attendence - yay!

but now, back to work - uggghh

So, I found a shave cream that I have never used. The Gentlemens Refinery. Any of you guys have or used it? What are your thoughts on the overall performance?

 

$300 is highway robbery. PM him and tell him to try the county shelter. Most will take an animal that needs to be put down for around $25 or $30 depending. Sorry for him. That's a tough one. I had to put down a family pet a few years ago. That was the first time I had to do something like that. It sucked.

Hey ho kiddies. Rough shave today w/ a green 7 o'clock. Not the blade for me apparently. I did use the Almond TOBS Tracy...nice stuff.

Found out yesterday I have to work on Sunday so I'll miss the championship games. Shoot! They're just not the same on TIVO. What good does it do to cheer and root when the winner has already been decided? Oh well, I'll still TIVO them.
