no, not turning over, juice gets to the starter and it kinda clicks, we tried bumping the starter (read: big hammer ), nothing; tried shunting the solenoid with a screwdriver, it's getting juice to the starter, it's just not turning - most likely either the starter is froze up, or eek the engine
no, not the grand am, 98 malibu, but same situation with FWD
we didn't get over 50 MPH but once, we towed with it in drive hoping that it would get enough momentum to crank itself, but never did, so the rest of the way was 40-45 MPH

Flywheel maybe. Did you put a new GM starter in or a rebuilt one from a parts store?

One of the techs here was waiting on a shipment from SnapOn. It showed up yesterday. I took the tools out, resealed the box and left it on his bench. He came in this morning to find an empty box with a receipt. Called the SnapOn guy all angry. Then I went out and asked if he wanted to check out my new slide-hammer. Hahahaha. Owned.
