    Hmmmmmmm................

Looks like I was logged in all night. Any of you guys ever have trouble with the site not letting you sign out?

    Nope, never had that problem.

    How're you feeling today?

Good morning! My son decided that sleep was not for him last night and kept waking up angry. That makes it really hard to get him back to sleep. We will see how long I can stay awake today...

When you use odor rather than scent, I question how pleasant you thought it was. ;)

    Good morning Rodd.

Speaking of the JMF cream, how is the Oriental Spice? Is it anything like the Booster's Oriental spice?

    Feeling okay, considering........

Matt, are you heading into Bel Air today to check those razors out? If so, and you get them, let me know. I have some tips for you that will make you a happier man.

I love the scent, it is the same as the Boosters, but I was disappointed by the strength. Both the Polar Ice and the Oriental Spice seem to be lacking in the scent power in my opinion. I like the scents to be prominent, but they seem fairly weak. I wish they had the same scent power as the original.

Haha, I'm already a happy man. Look at these pics he sent me. I'm going to try to make it out there today. He said he only needs an hours notice.

Yeah, I like to smell it, too. I have a sample of the Booster's OS A/S, maybe I'll try it today. I'm really liking the JMF cream...

Wow............ Matt. Those are some lovely red X's................

BTW, are you primarily interested in the Slim? Or are you looking to clean the straights up and sell them off too?

I'll have to see what the straights look like. In one of the pics, it looks like there may be some edge damage....chips and chunks. If they look cleanable and repariable, absolutely I'm interested. But once I saw that cased slim, I knew I'd have to go and see them in person.

EDIT: so, what are the tips to making me a happier man?

Morning folks. Hate to hear the MR didnt go so well with Shep but expected. I rinse my hands directly afterwards so the stickiness doesnt bother me. It also absorbs in the face very quick and not so tacky. Got a strange combo today.....T&H WIL and Alt Innsbruck. What the hell! I am hoping that lot sells in the classified. That will take a dent of the den. Still deciding if the 7oclock blacks are worth the investment. they are nice but always seem to get a couple small weepers as with the feathers:(

Some of those straights are high dollar razors, if the blades are in decent shape. Do Not Disclose how much you are paying for them!! You could go to SRP or B&B and get $100+ for some of those straights. I would not sell them on here unless you are going to just unload them for a small profit. All in all, they look like most are in good shape, and that Slim might just be NOS!!

Yeah, I got weepers with them too, I figured I would just prefer the yellows, they seem best for my face.

I dont know what it is? Everything is perfect except a couple itty bitty weepers:( I know they are sharp and quite pricey.....about the same price as feathers:( They are nice but I will pass. Shep hated the yellows but loves the blacks:confused: Everyone is different I guess! I just retried the feathers......1 shave? ok.....2nd -4th shave great! 5 and on....sucked. Blades easily last me 6-7 shaves. Live and learn I guess!

    Morning all.

Rodd, I got a batch of the oriental spice JMF and I find it has a pretty strong scent. Maybe the changed some of the batches. Or maybe I was just drunk when I used it, again.

we must have identical beards. It seems the blades that work for you are the blades that work for me. Have you tried either of the greens? If you are interested I can send you some. The permasharps are decent. I don't like them as much as the yellows, but better than most blades.

Maybe I should take another look. I think it smells great, I just wish it had more to it.

I was face lathering the JMF OS so maybe that is why I think it smells strong. I will try whipping up a batch in the mug and see if it looses some of its scent.

    Yeah,
You are the only that appreciate the same blades as me. I will stick the yellows though. For whatever reason you are sending me something then I might give then a try though;)

First go 'round with both the Col Conk bay rum and the '67 slim. Shave 4 on this Spoiler. set the razor to 3 and went at it. Not as close as some other shaves, but no weepers at *all* this time, and it just plain felt right as I shaved. Only change for tomorrow will be to try a 4. I'll give this blade it's 5th shave and then retire it.

I keep getting stories about how other folks' fathers and grandfathers extended the life of their blades back in the day as I go from shop to shop. One lady at an antique store here mentioned how her grandfather would put a little water in a wine glass, and then rub the blade on the inside of the glass.
