Ok, that's all for me. Good night. Unfortunately when I wake, the 'work week' officially begins. And that's not something I'm looking forward to. On the other hand, I should be glad I have work.

 

Evening Ladies and Gents.

Just got back from a friends house for dinner. Veal Picatta, some shrimp and salad. The picatta was cooked in butter and now my veins have began coagilating.

Dom, what do you like and not like about the Connaught? Is the Gem better than the slant?

 

OK... falling asleep at computer is sign that it is time to go to bed so I can get up at 4. See ya tomorrow!

Mmm. I want more Vela Picatta. Do you use butter when you cook it?

The GEM doesn't perform better than the slant for me, but it is quite nice. The GEM reminds me of a straight razor shave.

The Connaught... I love the smell. Nice and slick. Decent cushion, though not like TOBS for me. The first time I used it, it didn't give much protection. The most recent time, I used one of the SEs Fuzzy sent with the Connaught. Wasn't able to get a close shave, though I got good cushion and protection. To add to the difficulty... the first time was at my place, the second at the girlfriend's. Maybe a difference in the water, too?

 

We lightly flour the veal. Get some butter and white wine in a skillet and then add the veal. Cook and add some lemon juice and capers.

Are you face lathering the Connaught?

I find the Connaught takes a little more water than TOBS but not much.

 

Was just curious if you did the veal with oil instead of butter. I rarely cook with butter, but did when I made the Veal Picatta the other night. It was yummy.

And yes, I do face lather the Connaught. I think I have enough for one or possibly two more shaves. I'll definitely use the slant with a Feather for that shave.

Yup, we only use butter when cooking the veal. I think oil takes away from the veal.

Anybody used the old spice shave cream yet. I bought some from JoAnna and think I will give it a go tomorrow.

 

I've used it and sent a sample to Fuzzy a while back.

That thing lathers great, smells great, and shaves just as great. Top notch stuff if you ask me. Enjoy it!

 

Ahhh your using new soaps and new razors of course they are not working right.

Send me your shave gear first.. I will see that it gets spread around.my shave den.

I liked the old spice cream. Dom sent me a sample. But it does not smell like old spice at all... just a nice soap smell. I liked it though.

Haha. Yeah. The next SE shave will be with TOBS, I think. Will serve as a good baseline. Got a great shave with the SE and Noxema Lather Shave the first time, but the Connaught shave wasn't as good. I've got so many things to test out (samples, blades, razors, etc.) that I sometimes try to kill two birds with one stone. Need to stop doing that so much.

Will do SE with TOBS and Slant with new creams. That should give me a good idea where things stand.
