I don't know... but does anybody else find such comments from a professor with a "dignified" Tolkien bubbles blowing avatar a little unnerving?

I was wondering where you were, I am not usually the only one up and about at 5AM.

I have a Wife+Three Year Old Son alarm. You should try that brand. It'll never let you sleep too late. There you go Jim and Micah... the new marketing product of the century... no, no wait... the MILLENNIUM!!! Boohahahhaha! :signs136

Well final post before students are in the building. Have a good Thursday everyone!

Its an odd schedule with Moodle training this afternoon, so I may not be back until tonight. Although I may try to squeeze in some time during my 9:56-10:22 lunch. I hate inservice days.

Interesting sounding alarm.. But since that little chunky Red head threw me out and divorced me I just use the cell phone alarm.. which the cat knocked off behind the night stand. Oh well other then the shave no big deal.

Nice comeback for the Derby this AM in the red tip. Still skips and drags, but the frustration and disappointment from yesterday is gone.

Now for the tough question... do I leave it in the red tip tomorrow, or go to the '49 SS for further experimentation? (I'm not sure I want to go with the fatboy with this one after what it did in the slim)

Back up! Feel really groggy for some reason. I think i will give Mantic's upside down shaving technique a whirl. I am trying to break in one of those $13 Omega brushes in so might try it ........MWF? Maybe QED cedar/pine.....it smells awesome;) TSD....damn decisions.

I dumped Derby's long ago. Might try to re-visit but really one of a few blades that skipped.

So far I've got Astra way ahead of Derby on my list of what to bulk buy. I think the only blades I don't have on hand to try are the 7 o'clocks, the Swedes, and the Feathers.

    Morning all.

Shawn I did the upside down trick again today with tabac. Worked really good. I made sure I left the brush damp and it definately builds a rich lather right away. Still had to dip the brush a couple of times but no biggey.

me too. I started with them because everyone was telling me they were good. I thought it must be my technique. I finally tried some more blades from the sampler (Red Pack) and put the Derbys away. I got confident with the Reds and tried another Derby, just didn't work. Traded them all away.

Shawn, Check my SoTD. Thanks for making it possible!

PM me your address. You must try 7 O'clock yellows before you bulk order something else. :)

I am wondering if the reason this works is because the force of gravity on the soap makes you smash your brush in to it more... If you really pushed the brush in to the soap and held it upright, would it do the same thing?

Edit: wow, 3 consecutive posts, gotta remember to use multiquote...

Very nice Rodd! How did you like the TOM? Also....see you used the lemon....did the lemon scent come out? I did notice with the SW that the scent got better after a few uses.

Nope, it works better. I used to smash the crap out of my brush when holding the bowl right side up and it didn't work nearly as good. With holding it upside down I don't even have to smash the brush as hard and it loads the brush farther down on the bristles.

I was wondering the same about the upside down trick. I usually grind it in pretty good? I will try anything once though. I dont get as much lather as Mark did on my face either....ever. I get a nice thick but thin layer on my face and it works just fine.

I got a request for the NB lot but have to say no....He assumed the lotion, SC, and body wash were added. $23? Thats almost $85 worth of stuff! The guy was very nice though and I will send him a sample of the SC. I think I will just keep the stuff. I cant afford to give it away and its damn good stuff.

The TOM was very nice! Subtle menthol kick, and quick easy lather. Did you say they discontinued this? I am surprised there aren't more fans around here.

I was actually really disappointed with the AOS in general. I expected so much more out of a soap that sells for $45. I couldn't smell anything but soap while it was on my face, but hopefully that will improve with use. (I am not giving up yet) and I didn't think the lather was anything special. If it were the same price as TSD soaps, I would still buy the TSD soaps. To think that I could have had 4 TSD soaps for the same price, even with the sale makes me wonder why people are so set on the stuff. Like I said, I will keep working with it, but don't be surprised if I end up trading it. YMMV
