go to a race, it will change your perception completely, there's so much going on all around the track, the cameras can't keep up, plus they tend to only show their sugarbabies, like Gordon, Johnson, etc., so you miss a lot.

I agree, the races are far too long, but you gotta make room for commercials, right? If they cut 25% off, it'd probably be perfect (except Bristol, it already is racing perfection), but as it is commercials already take up too much of the race, imagine with less race to show....
they could do like IRL and the race in a PIP type window during the commercial, that'd be wise

 

I don't even know where the closest race would be, Kansas City I suppose.

 

I suppose the length of the race may be part of the issue. I just can't sit and watch something that long. I don't even get time to watch my 1 hour tv shows I DVR. (I am now two weeks behind on Battlestar Gallactica)...

 

I agree with Jim....it used to be much better btw. It is way too commercialized and Nascar is very much a totalitarian type sport. Their rules and only their rules. I think they are screwing themselves but who am I? an ex huge fan that dropped big $$$ each year on races and gear. no more. I admit....going to the race is an experience and doesnt compare to other live sports. 43 cars on that 1st lap is life changing! You can bring your own beer in and smoke in the stands! I will go back to Talladega and Bristol....thats it and only if the tickets are free or cheap. I will never pay full price again. Water under the bridge. Oh well. at least i have cool shaving shit huh

Does anybody use netflix? I'm considering getting it but I'm not sure if it's worth it. How fast do things ship?

 

I use Netflix. I usually ship my movies back on Monday and by Friday or Saturday I have my new movies. It is pretty quick and much better than a movie rental store.

 

May depend on how close you are to a distro center, day or 2 to get there day or 2 to come back

+1.....I went to my first race this past September - it was the Nationwide series (old Busch league) at Dover. WOW. Watching today I could still "smell" the rubber and exhaust.....what an intoxicating smell, but wouldn't make a good soap, cream, or A/S

How goes the weekend so far?

 

Thanks for the heads up on Hulu. I had to watch a BSG episode on hulu recently... satellite feed conked out towards the end of the episode. Hopefully the episodes I am behind are recorded on the DVR, I just haven't sat around to watch them. Daughter isn't in bed until 8:30 and wife doesn't watch BSG so that doesn't give much viewing time.
