Yup.. I hope to get a double ring someday.

I know it is too new for you.. But if you get the chance to try the old Fatip head R89.. it is nice! My opinion may change, but based on shave 1, it ranks pretty high amongst my open combs.

That does sound nice. verrrrryyyy nice

I would love a Double Ring.. but not the price they command. I would prolly try a newer model.. but would probably not buy one

    Evenin'.

Feeling a little daring. There's so many packs of old Blue Blades floating around, I have no qualms about opening the NOS pack I picked up a couple weeks ago. 1954 vintage, but looks brand spanking new. Paper's a little yellowed, though. It's loaded in the red tip and set to go for tomorrow. :D

(after that, maybe try one of the Thins. I keep getting bunches of those and the Blues with my razor buys)

I have had a few of the blue blades but never even opened them. I have heard horror stories about them so I didnt even try them. Fuzzy, I see the razor came in so you should try one out;)

i just might sometime... is that the right case for that tech you think or would that be a case for a old???

I don't know if it's that my technique is lacking or anything, but I can get phenomenal shaves from my Fatboy, Slim (both on 4) and my Tech. Very nice shaves with my 1912 Gem, also.

I shaved a few days with my Old, and at first I really liked it, but then I started getting irritation on the side of my neck, and a few whiteheads/ingrowns under my chin along with irritation. I'm going to try out my new NEW tomorrow.

But just doing a very unscientific comparison, it looks like there is much more blade exposure on the Old and NEW (exposure looks roughly the same) than there is on my Fatboy set at 4.

I think I should shave with the older OCs for a while to learn how to use them properly. The milder razors maybe let me be a little lax in my technique.... Maybe not, maybe I'm just a mild type guy....

You really have to drive the OLD.. it is a great but I find very aggressive razor. The shave feels a lot like a lather catcher shave..which I love.

Congrats. At this rate the entire HYD group will be OC-SE

I get better feedback and have more control on the OC-SE razors. It is kind of like driving a stick v. automatic. Man, I miss my stick shift.

Still looking to get a New Improved. But like all my OC-SE razors. OK.. not feeling the love for the Cooper. but I last used it before I had gone all OC-SE. Maybe it needs another chance.
