How's Your Day? -August 2014

Last night's BBQ went well and everyone left stuffed.

I also just successfully, and *painlessly* upgraded my home desktop to Kubuntu 13.10/saucy salamander

 

Very cool dude.

 

I just tried it two days ago. It's good stuff, especially for the price.

 

I'm tipping a few back now..

 

How about Hamas beer now that is very old school. I have been drinking Coors and PBR lately I am thinking Hamas next.

 

I know I'm late to the game, but with the right yeast it shouldn't be sweeter. Should have a more complex flavor with higher alcohol. This is assuming the yeast works right.

In other news- been away from TSD for some time. In that time, we bought our first new car (a 2014 Chevy Spark) to replace a very unreliable 2003 PT Cruiser, survived 100+ degree daily temperatures, and survived VBS at my church with a new VBS director. Life is good, even if hectic. Oh, and bought a new Dell all-in-one computer and have been learning the "joys" of windows 8.1. Anyone have tips for wifi connectivity issues with 8.1? Our connection stinks and it's almost certainly 8.1's fault.

That's what I was thinking, but kept my e-mouth shut, seeing as I know nothing about beer

 

Learned a bunch today. Took apart the shower controls, replaced the rubber gaskets, cleaned it up, and stopped a leaky shower which developed recently. Instead of paying a plumber, it ran me $1.97 for a pack of rubber washers and about an hour.

I wouldn't really call it good stuff, but it is cheap and drinkable. I have about half a 30 pack of it in the fridge now...

 

Nice work! Now... how many new swear words did you invent in the process?

Surprisingly, none. I watched a handful of youtube videos, then borrowed the correct tools from my neighbor. I got lucky and it worked the first time.

 

Oh lord, they're having a boy. I've had quite more than a few.
