Thank you! The night went great!! My grandson woke up at 6:30am and now we're having breakfast (french toast and sliced apples)
I asked him what he wanted to watch, Minions! I know my brother @macaronus is proud.

Finally thought of an analogy for my past 6 months....recall the old Mike Tyson's Punch Out game. Now, imagine you've gotten to Mike. The ref says "Fight!", and someone unplugs your controller.
Yeah, that about sums it up.
Punch after punch. Should've been KO'd months ago. But the game goes on

Another day closer!

 

I've been in the hospital with my 19 yr old son for 2 days. He had brain bleeding, caused by unknown reasons. They operated today, and he's doing well. Not a fun time.

Thanks. It's been rough. Mostly for the women. I deal with life and death issues, at work, constantly. So, I'm a little calmer than the women in the family. I can talk him into relaxing, and let the sedatives do their thing. Then I can relax.

 

Another rainstorm. I had to wait until the third for my SMALL military disability check which is supposed to be in first of the month. I raced online to buy footwear on EBAY after my corcoran boots disintegrated in the last storm. PAYPAL reverted my account for the third time to
an address, phone number and closed bank account I updated and went through this twice before. I finally got it partially resolved and managed to buy the very last pair of shoes in my size using a debit card that still gets processed by paypal.
With a break in the rain, I donned heavy wool socks to go get my mail. Naturally half my nieghbors looked at my feet and I made some lie about
recovering from minor surgery at the podiatrist and unable to wear shoes for awhile. Mail was a complimentary porn catalog, charity solicitation to feed the homeless and a form to renew my CALFRESH benefits. I told my caseworker I still looked for work and supplemented my $89 service disability recycling CA redemption aluminum,glass and plastic. She listed my occupation as recycling and now I have to list the amount every month. It came today the 3rd with a notice it had to be returned by the 5th. I'm moving up in the world. When I finished my enlistment I applied for unemployment. the counselor asked my occupation in the military. I told her I was a designated lifeboat coxswain/rescue swimmer. She listed me as a truck driver.
I do have a huge stew on the stove; beef, vegetables,herbs and mushrooms in a vegetable stock I make monthly and freeze. I managed an inexpensive bottle of spanish Tremontillo to flavor it and drink, a basque cheese and a baquette of bread in another 90 minutes. I have a CD
playing of RUSALKA with a popular performance by Renee Fleming. I found it at the nearby thrift store for $1 unopened.

 

It's good you're there to help. I sincerely hope they determine the cause of the bleeding quickly and fix it. I have kids too, and it's a different situation when it's one of your kids.
