I hope you get to go into the delivery room, it was a life altering experience for me to be there when my son was born.

It is just going to be me and my wife when she delivers. An independent step into our own family ya know?

JoAnna, glad you got your new motor for your van :). Heated seats are the best. I went for two winters with my heat not working and the seats saved me.

Remodel is ok I guess, just really slow. I had to pick up the almost 2,000 lbs of engineered flooring yesterday and carrying it up the hill and into the house myself wasn't much fun. I take Sunday's to rest so nothing being done today. I'll start back on the sheetrock tomorrow. The sheetrock mud and paint fumes irritates my allergy so I can look forward to a week of itching and red blotches/bumps on my face and neck again... It's got to get done though, I'll just use the prescription cream I have and hope for the best.

On a more fun note, I had the pleasure of speaking with Glen aka gssixgun on the phone yesterday and he's finishing up some straights for me sometime in the next week or two...

    Have a great week everyone!

Yeah..........that didn't go as well as hoped.
The motor was supposed to have 101,000 miles on it. got it to my friend's house, unwrapped it, and there are tags all over it saying 190,000 miles.
So, another couple weeks without my van. :(
Gotta return this motor, hope they actually have the motor with 101,000 on it, and if not figure out what to do then.

My bathroom remodel took well over a year, but that's what happens when no one wants to help get the job done.
Would a breathing mask help with the allergy? Itchy and rash are no fun. I don't have any allergies, but the cold weather is being brutal on my skin this year. I can only imagine how much fun allergy induced itch and rash could be.

Pics of the straights when you get em back!

Well wishes for a safe delivery!

Thank you! It means a lot.
She is having more frequent contractions, just none worthy of rolling out to the hospital yet.

The allergy is contact unfortunately. I've tried wearing dust masks off and on and it just seems to concentrate the allergen and make it worse. I was walking through the halls at work the other day and the floors were being cleaned and waxed in a couple of rooms and I could immediately feel the itching. My supervisor looked at me and said that he could see my face getting blotchy...

I'm working on this house stuff myself because no one seems to be willing to help me either. It's amazing how your "friends" run off when you have work to be done. I do have one guy that will help but he lives 45 minutes away and is trying to get his house ready to sell so I can't call on him too much.

I wish my bathroom remodel only took a year. From this initial demo (down to studs, joists & exposed plumbing & electrical) to final completion took nearly….six years! :shocked003:

    Ick. That sucks.

I'd help if I was closer. :) Some of it can be fun. Mostly the demo, but some of the rebuild too.

Yeah, if the bathroom was bigger than a broom closet it may have taken longer. We tore it down to the studs and plumbing too.

It's not actually done either. It's functional, but not complete.

    Thanks, JoAnna!

Kevin, you have me intrigued. Six years??? What, I mean why...??????

After completing the demo, life happened. Unexpected college expenses, illnesses, funds get funneled elsewhere. My wife had to share the other bathroom with my three sons & me. For just over 3.5 years. What a Saint! :love055:

But, eventually I was able to get back onto it.
Whole new sub flooring, new plumbing run (after creating a false wall), new tiled shower & flooring, new vanity, lighting, etc. Worst part for me was squeezing into the crawlspace beneath the house for all the plumbing work—just too small for someone my size!

She's very pleased with the results, and believe me, after going 3+ years without a master bathroom, we BOTH appreciate the value of one.

Sounds like my life, LOL! That bathroom is beautiful though. Good news is that mine is just for me! I want some black and white photos of shaving stuff and I've been thinking about a vintage silver plate brush and shave mug. I may have to re-knot but it would be nice looking on the corner of my sink. Hmm, maybe a decanter of bay rum...

    I've been playing Bioshock Infinite.

This game has atmosphere out the wazoo. It amazes me how well some games can build a world. The most amazing thing, though, is the music. Set in 1910, they decided to use some anachronistic music in the game. They did vintage covers of music from the 20s thru the 60s that sound completely germane to the setting and situation of the game--it's a totally inspired creative choice on the part of the game creators. I find myself playing almost just to listen to it.

I like that anachronistic atmosphere too. Reminds me of "Apocolypse Now" with the classical music playing during villiage bombings. LOL.

As of this writing I'm in ICU. I had a fever of 105.1 and my blood pressure was 35/70. Now @11:30pm my temp is 98 and BP 112/61. But here's the kicker. The Doctor put a pick line in my neck, I'm sure I'll need to wait a week once I get home for the stitches to heal. I'm just glad to be alive!
