How's Your Day? - January 2014

Started off with a 2 hour delay at school due to cold and snow. But the electricity went out at 6:30. It came back on at 8:45 a.m. So classes started at 9:30. Finished the day thinking that I need a shave. I just remembered that I have to go back into school to work the concession stand at ball games tonight. Maybe I can squeeze in a shave!

 

What is this strange thing being forecasted for Thursday? Water drops!



Yes, I'm tired of the sunny, 68-70°F 'winter' temps we've been experiencing in Northern CA. We need the rain!
The current drought is the driest in State history!

 

I'm up to my nostrils in a larger network than should run on GNS3. I've maxed out my CPU and 8GB of RAM simulating our next few exercises at the same time - since they threw me out of my office because I was ignoring the order to go home.

Didn't say I couldn't work from home...

 

I saw that on the news "Breaking News" I think in San Jose were looking at .10-.15 on an inch! If it's yellow, let it mellow. If it's brown, flush it down.

 

OMG It's official I want to bash this into oblivion. I just can't get this IPSEC on my L2TP. I've been working on this since this morning...

You work in a public school, right? That kind of goes without saying.

Tried my hand at making a batch of switchel last night. Didn't turn out too bad, if I do say so myself. I improvised, though and used different ingredients than every recipe I read, though, and I didn't measure anything, lol.

What is switchel? It's Vinegar, syrup or honey, and a spice like ginger (cinnamon in my case) mixed together that you dilute with water to make a tasty, tart drink. Surprisingly tasty. Most recipes call for Apple Cider Vinegar, but I didn't have any on hand, so I mixed a little white with some balsamic and used honey for the sweet base, and it turned out... okay. Kind of a DIY Mio water enhancer with a kick.


Announced a couple of ball games last night. Futzed up on a girl's name even though I had it written out phonetically specifically so I wouldn't. And when it came time to introduce the local boys, I pretty much just vomited up word salad. It would have been embarrassing if anyone ever actually listened to me when I'm announcing.

Just finished my 3gal bucket of sheetrock mud. Roads are icy and most people around here don't know how to drive in it so, I won't be going to get more today. I guess I'll start tearing out my bathroom instead...

The awkward moment when they email you back stating you're over qualified. Besides if you get the job you might have to apply for a vendors membership here lolol. Good luck in the job search by the way

 

Hello Friends
It's 6:36 am on Thursday. I'm going home today!! I feel so much better! I'll need to wait a couple of days before I can shave, I'll need to let the incision area on my neck heal. My wife told me I have 2 packages waiting for me at home. Again, thank you all for your kind thoughts and prayers.
