We're getting some snow here, but we're going to miss the worst of it (so they say). In any case, I'm all the more eager to get started on this:

Yep, the annual "flight" to Sint Maarten. woot! (Currently, it's 82F and mostly sunny there.)

Thanks. I really love what I am doing. The student is a sweetie with a thirst for knowledge. She attends a girls' school in Afghanistan, where they link the students up with English-speaking tutors.

It really is. The literacy rate in Afghanistan is appalingly low & worse for girls than for boys. To be a part of a program that chips away at that, is satisfying.

That's awesome Sara! Good job on the tutoring! :)

Today I made not-so-sour sourdough. I mixed up my starter a few days back (4-5) so it only had a mild flavor. Even though the taste wasn't there, it sure looked pretty! And it had a super crispy crust too!

And it's snowing now. :( I'm gonna blame this one on you guys on the east coast. ;)

Over 2 feet of now fell in NYC yesterday. The hubby (who is an EMT) had to work a double shift & could not come home last night. I miss him, but I am glad he is safe. Hopefully, later, some enterprising kids will come around to shovel the steps. (The condo ass'n is responsible for the sidewalks, but my steps are my responsibility.). I will happily pay some kids to shovel.

When I was a kid in New Jersey we would make pocket money shoveling snow off of people's steps, driveway, sidewalks. We'd even stand in front of the grocery store and offer to push the cart to the car and unload the groceries into the trunk, 99% of the time we'd get a tip.

Similar here. Recall helping people with snow stuck cars back in the bias ply tire days and real wheel drive being the common configuration. Folks were happy to pay kids and young teens who freed them out of a snow rut. Few had snow tires back then or AWD.

It's mid-afternoon & no kids have come to shovel. I did what I could (about 2.5 of the 4 front steps.). After falling down, I'd had enough. I wasn't hurt, as snow is soft, but it took me several minutes to get my feet under me & stand up again.
I hate to leave it to th hubby, as he had to work today , after a double shift yesterday, plus he hurt his elbow.

It was 38 when I woke up this morning...piddled around & had an egg and sausage sammich with some Colombian brewed through my 101. Piddled around some more and raked leaves after lunch. Then took to the twisties on FM150 for a bit. Came home, and it was 70. Made my work lunch for the next three days, then had some milk & ginger snaps. My gal's a thousand miles away, rooting for her Panthers.

I woke up at 6 am today, ate breakfast with my girlfriend and then was about to shower and shave with my AlumiGoose.

This is when I got a call from the school which I Work at that they needed me in the pre school. So I showered quickly and skipped the shave.

In working in the preschool to 1 pm and then 30 minutes break and then 1:30pm-4pm I'll be working at the recreation center for the special school children.

This is the best part time job i have had. There is not Work here very often, but i have applied to another part time job that I want to work at because it's well payed and also I want to have time to study for a test. If I have that job I would be able to work 3-4 times a week and study the rest of the week and still earn a good pay check. And when I take my test I will be able work a few more days a week =)
