Father, I know you can heal the blind. I pray you bring a quick healing to Noob's eyes for his blessing and Your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.
Last night there was a mini GOAT in Willie's pet therapy orientation (His owner trains horses). It's at a senior center in the city, so I was surprised, but pleasantly so-- he was so well-behaved! The other two trainees are lapdogs, so W was happy not to be the biggest in the class
While the animal was wonderful, I think that the old goat was an odd egg. He kept calling one-eyed Wille "cyclops" & guffawing at himself.
Saw a fantastic failure of fake hair on a photoshop of the little river band. They are all bad, but the guy in the center is much more bald... http://odmafia.com/wp-content/uploads//2013/05/Little-River-Band1.jpg
The first thing I thought of when I read "mini GOAT" was my '67 LeMans, my first ride! (Some of you will understand) Fresh Corvette-red lacquer paint job, black top (the vinyl was shot), Crager SS mags... *sigh*
Oh man. When I was in highschool my neighbors dad had a red 67 GTO with the black vinyl top. IIRC, it had a 383 in it. Sweet ride.
Great day. Got back from a business trip to Lufkin, TX. Got stuck in Houston rush hour traffic on the way home, but got home about 6:30. I get to sleep in my own bed tonite instead of the Holiday Inn Express. I did manage to go by the Bath and Body Works in Lufkin while there and pick up some C.O. Bigelow shave cream. My proraso had run out and the nearest Bath and Body Works to my home didn't carry the C.O Bigelow products. I also went to Bryan's Smokehouse, which I had seen on Restaurant Impossible. It was interesting because the restaurant was much smaller than it appeared on the show, I guess they used a wide angle lens. I talked to the owner a little and she made some interesting comments about the show.
She said Chef Robert had a foul mouth right at the start. She said she told him people didn't talk to women that way in east Texas and if he didn't show respect to her and her employees he could take his show and leave. She said he got mad and went to his producer's trailer but came back later and apologized. It's hard to know what the truth is, but it makes a good story. The barbecue ribs I had weren't as good as the barbecue judge said they were on the show after chef Robert worked his magic. They were fall-off-the-bone tender but a bit dry and salty. You shouldn't have to put sauce on spareribs to make them juicy. You'll be glad to know they didn't have barbecued penguin on the menu.
Interesting stuff. If you dig around a bit, the track record on most of those restaurant-bar rescue shows is abysmal. Glad to see one made it. And thankfully, not too many penguins to be found in Texas. Can you even imagine with that heat?
We're getting more every day I don't know if Bryan's Smokehouse has made it. The show just recently aired and there wasn't much business when I was there, but it was five o'clock on a Monday. An order-at-the-counter rib plate (4 ribs) with two small sides on a disposable plate and an iced tea in a styrofoam cup was $16 plus tax and tip, which is a bit pricey for this type of restaurant in east Texas.
Indeed. When my wife and I first starting dating, my father-in-law had a GTO, can't remember the year, but maaaan....sweet ride
I'd say. Seriously, how hard is it catch something that waddles? Happy Belated Birthday! arty: 'Tis sad that we have come to that, is it not?
But, what about those two cords that look like I missed? Glad you asked.... Now I have a watch band for my new-to-me Motoactv (or anything else I want to clip to it)
