And fwiw, I'm pretty sure that once you're married and have a kid, you get to decide your own facial hair.
@macaronus Hey Mike! Thanks for the security detail! Really thoughtful of you since I gave the Penguinators the week off. But, um, shouldn't they be a little more inconspicuous? Or is this guy just the decoy? (spotted near my hotel) And for those of you in Orlando, it looks like they're setting up shop at the Lowes. I must say, this looks like a lot of fun for a kid.
Starting this afternoon I'm off until 16 June, which will be a nice little vacation around the house for me to get things fixed up for spring cleaning that I missed. I'm going to Ottawa for a month in July though for some extended training but I think this is going to be a cushy hotel type deal of a trip for me. Still waiting for the car to cool down so I can do an oil change on her this evening (I realized a few months ago its $27 for the supplies or I can go to a place and get it done for $80....not a difficult decision when it involves only 10 minutes of work)
Kevin - my thoughts and prayers are with you. I know about the chronic pain - three back surgeries in the past six years. Perhaps more in the future. Still, God is good and He provides. Take care.........
Kevin, I have had surgery on both carpal tunnels and on both tarsal tunnels (equivalent to the carpal in the ankle) and both feet and knees (equivalent to Tennis Elbow surgery). One ankle had to be done again due to new scar tissue. These were done in shifts so my whole body would not be out of commission totally. I had to spend 25 weeks just in recovery alone over a 5 year period for these 5 surgeries. I had three excellent surgeons (Otho for wrists and hands, Ortho for knees, and Podiatric Surgeon for ankles and feet) who are top flight in their specialties. GOD allowed that to happen and I am very fortunate. Various doctors I have received treatment from verfied that I had received the very best specialists. Without those surgeries I would be permanently disabled. So if anyone knows what it is like, I do. You will be on my special request list to the LORD for a steady and gentle healing. Hopefully the cortisone will allow the ligaments and tendons to relax and allow the tunnel to be "reopened" and hopefully surgery is not necessary. Good fortune on the nerve testing and I hope it provides the information needed to make the right decision.
Gary, thank you sincerely my friend for sharing your experience with these type of medical issues, with both the surgeries and the recuperation periods. I'll certainly welcome all prayers and petitions for a speedy recovery from this present condition!
Thank you, Ed! Your prayers are greatly appreciated and reciprocated for the removal of any need for potential back surgeries you anticipate in the future!
