How's your day? June 2015

A not so good day.

 

I was just out running/walking a 4K.. It feels like my heart is about to explode HAHA.. Talk about out of shape

 

I overslept. It felt so good. I had my last contact lens fitting session yesterday! I got the green light from my doctor.
Monday-Thursday our youngest son comes over for dinner with our two grand babies, our daughter in law is taking a night class at San Jose State, boy I'm getting old! A 2 year old and 8 month old wear me out after a couple of hours. Having grandchildren has completely changed my life. I'm thankful everyday.

 

I'm back home after 11 days away from my wife and sons. It felt great to sleep in my own bed. 9 1/2 hours driving yesterday left me feeling quite pummeled.

 

Today is the last day of school in NYC. So I went to my old school and had lunch with my former colleagues. It was wonderful to see them.

 

Slept in till about 530 which was nice but coffee has been making me jittery lately which sucks because I love coffee

 

I just strained out a batch of vanilla extract (which is now ready to use.) It smells soooooo good! Anyone who uses the word "vanilla" to mean bland or uninteresting doesn't know beans about good vanilla.

 

Overslept

 

Had to bury one of our cats this morning. He was 16 years old and my wife had him since he was a kitten. He'd been a little sick for the last week or so and took a sudden turn for the worse Friday and Saturday.

Sorry to hear you lost your cat. The loss of a cherished pet can be a difficult time.

She's taking it pretty hard. That was one of her babies, and it happened so suddenly.

I have some running around to do today, a quick visit to my dentist, I want him to check my new cap. I need to pickup my contact lens in Mountain View today, and have my blood drawn. Rumor is my youngest son and grandson are taking me out to lunch.

 

I made a batch of vanilla ice cream this morning. Then I went for a shoot outdoors, where I encountered some very nice people. Their kids were terribly curious about my gear, but helped me out, in order to learn about it. They even found the arrow I lost in the grass.

 

I'm guessing the water isn't supposed to be there... hope it cleaned up without too much damage.

 

The week in summary:
- Dog lost an eye,
- Cancelled a date with a very attractive lady because I was lazy,
- Received a bag of questionable razors,
- Got one year closer to the ever-after,
- Realized I still really, really dislike cauliflower.
- Singing penguins gives me a headache.
