it's been problematic for a while now, but until today, the longest I've sat waiting for it to finally decide to crank has been about 15 minutes. Today blew that record out of the water...2 1/2 hours later, I finally start my trek home.
but, I did manage to disassemble the dash and find exactly what part I needed to order, so it wasn't time all lost...just waiting on part now. Hopefully this will fix it.

Well, I was going to go to my mother In laws radiation treatment tomorrow (her mother drives a van so me and the wife just pile in) when she looks me straight in the face, the grandmother, and tells me I'm not going. Talk about down right livid. That was about 6 1/2 hours ago. Still really mad.

Other than the car, been really busy, spent most of last week (spring break) outside, doing tons of backed-up yard work, and many other projects that have been neglected due to time. Was hardly ever online at all....7 days off the internet makes one weak (or maybe that's one week :D)

sweet! Wish that would have been on sale awhile back when I sprung for the SparkFun soldering station (it was on sale for $45 at the time). Been a good rig, the massive number of times I've used it thus far (twice, LOL)

I've started restoring an old axe head. I've been sanding it down by hand, but it's time to get a sanding attachment for my drill!

Finally finished up watching Breaking Bad last night. I'm not too sure how I feel about the finale. I mean, I pretty much saw everything coming (who didn't?) but still, it was kind of unsatisfying. I suppose that's the point. Very Nhillistic story in all. Or did I miss something?

I am sitting in an old pre-Victorian-era parlor of a home built in 1857, typing this message on my wife's laptop.
Ah, the miracles of modern WiFi! We arrived yesterday to Nevada City (hour + drive northeast of Sacramento) in the middle of California's Gold Country. I did have an interesting shave this morning: the bathroom fixtures are of an ideal size...if one is 5 foot two! Being six four, I felt as if I was shaving in a kindergarten lavatory! Today's agenda: cruise the antique stores, find some good eats, and take in the sites.

Our room: manly-man furnishings...my wife loves this decor.

End-of-the-Day Follow-up: Spent a great birthday exploring, eating and perusing multiple antique shops. We hit sort of a 'mother lode' of Gold Country razors in one large antique store: In three separate display cases were a collections of all types of 'antique' shaving paraphernalia:
    • Over a dozen Gems and other SE razors (tempted to snag a few, but resisted)
    • Multiple Gillette travel razors in cases (3-4)—one ridiculously small; razorhead 3/4" wide)
    • A corn straight razor with case (kinda cool, but ewww!)
    • A dozen or more of Rubberset & other vintage brushes (all varieties, shapes & prices)
    • Old used razor blade holders of differing sizes and shapes (grabbed one!)
    • Vintage DE blade packs (too many to count!)
    • Old Barbicide jars (cool, but asking too much $$$)
    • 8-10 Gillette DEs, some complete with cases and blade holders (snagged one!)
    • A variety of old soap containers ($$)
    • Nearly 2 dozen vintage straight razors (of which I grabbed five).

I'll post some photos of the take after I return home (I forgot to bring the camera cord to upload to the laptop..duh!).
All in all, a fun day where I spent waaaay too much $$$, but I did come away with some cool new shave toys!:)

I think I mentioned earlier that I was trying to drum up donations for a pro-life fundraiser walk-a-thon type thing that my Church is participating in to raise money for the First Choice Pregnancy Resource Center. The center is doing a really good work, and they really have the health of women, babies, and families in mind in their ministry. They have plans to build a shelter for teens who have been kicked out of their homes because of pregnancy, but are in need of funds. If you think it's something you might be interested in contributing to, please click this link and have a look around.

I really appreciate it. And I promise, that's the last I'll bother you lot with it.

Had a great shave last night, and got more than two hours of sleep - versus the less than 2 hours I got the night before. Granted, it was only just under 3 hours, but still....it's more than 2 :D

    I could use a nap

Common misconception. We They don't need 27 hours of sleep a day like a cat, but they do sleep....some of them anyway. The Chuck Norris ones don't sleep.....

You wouldn't happen to be looking for a Lead Pastor, would you? :)

Or arthritis. I see my ortho tomorrow. God bless.

Get the arthroscopic surgery. I had frozen shoulder for almost three years. I had the surgery in August, followed by six weeks of therapy. I won't say I'm 100%, but I can accidentally walk into a doorway without crying. That's a good thing.

That's called "strategic incompetence." I've been practicing it for years.

It's been a good day. I had coffee this morning with some friends whose daughter is undergoing chemo. I hadn't seen them in a week, so catching up was nice. Then I showed up early to my ortho appointment . . . 24 hours early. It's tomorrow. The evening, however, is not looking so bright; I'm headed to Weight Watchers in 45 minutes. That usually doesn't go well. :angry019:

Erik Redd Lizabeth, baby, I'm comin' to join ya.

Have you considered the possibility your hubby just isn't as good at acting stupid as the rest of us? It's an acquired trait that takes a lot of practice.

Ok did some bathroom reorganizing, cleaned the whole upstairs of the house, have already used the new finishing hone on both my razors, have them stropped and ready to rock & roll - laundry started....I think its time to relax finally.
