No they work.

I don't go down 302 enough to know if they have one. I think they have a flashing yellow light. < I think. so that would be... two.. Er.... I could be wrong, but the actual side people reside on there is one. Then going down I-69 there are two towards Robinsonville [that's what "tourist" call Tunica yet Tunica is actually 30 minutes away.... it's just Robinsonville is farmland and casinos.] Yeah, the delta...

 

And my day was great... Until I come home to mortar fire. When did the California central coast become Afghanistan?

 

Wha??? What happened?

 

I agree. Huh? I hope all is well.

 

Long day here. The school day has ended, but we still have parent conference night, ahead of us. It's productive, but very tiring.

 

Water damage fixed, roofers starting monday, and it snowed today.

 

I live 15 miles south of Camp Roberts which is used as National Guard training grounds. It's one of the largest training facilities that has terrain similar to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Recently they started training with mortars. And given how loud it was, I'm guessing they were using tanks this time - it shook the whole house and we are 15-20 miles from the facility.

What stinks is that they can train all times of the day and night - and our dog goes nuts at 1am barking at the booms.

Everything is fine, however it does give one flashbacks to "Red Dawn".

 

Just be Glad you don't live by MCB Camp Pendleton or MCAS Miramar or NAS North Island, or NOLF Imperial Beach. NAWS Chima Lake. They do take off a landing practice almost 24 hrs a day. What you are hearing is the sound of freedom.
Sorry for my rant, I'm not having a good day due to my lower back injuries. We were going to go to the Eastern Sierras, but due to injuries we can't go any where.

 

I've been to most of those places. Miramar is probably the busiest. The constant jet noise isn't quite so bad as the tank fire IMO. Then again, I grew up next to a hospital that had its own jet powered chopper that took off at all times of the day & night.

I know how that back pain goes. I slept poorly that night and kinked mine. Could barely move around yesterday. Hope you heal quickly and get better soon - the Sierras are calling.

 

Your not on Spring Break the Schools here all are?

 

With all the snow days we've had up here in the north east, many schools are even considering classes on Saturdays to make up the lost time. Most will not be taking a Spring break

 

Our spring break is in mid-April.

 

So was anyone else brave enough to try the inaugural Waffle Taco?
