Just made it out from under the worst case of food poisoning I've ever had. Life is a gift people.

Prayers sent your way for a quick recovery. Food poisoning has to be truly one of the most unpleasant ordeals to suffer. Having been through it on several occasions, I can sympathize.
It is the foremost reason I am so diligent about hygiene in the kitchen and with all food prep and storage.

As am I. The culprit actually came from my work. There's a cafeteria downstairs that had been trustworthy until the event. It was terrible. Fortunately, that's done now. Now I'm in the timidly testing the ropes of things I can eat phase. It's the weekend and I have to take it easy because I'm exhausted from not eating for days.

My wifes 1991 Honda Accord was just totalled, drunk driver t-boned me. It had 230k miles on it. the most expensive thing I had to do to it was replace the timing belt three times over the course of 20 + years at about $300.00 a pop.

ooooohh.... been there, done that, got the IV bag. Hope you're better soon! Load up on the probiotics and active culture yoghurt if you can. It'll get you feeling better faster. Also Pedialyte solution (in the baby section). Less sugar than Gatoraid.

Father, I thank You that this was not worse than it could have been. I pray for Your power to bring quick recovery to Raktageno. Bless him for Your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.

Yesterday was TWGW's 40th B-day. Her family surprised her by coming in from out of town and showing up at church, which totally made her day (it made me a little sad, though, because my family all said they'd come to church for my birthday, and only one member ever showed up). After I accidentally, lightly rear-ended an SUV (just enough to screw up my plastic bumper, but do zero damage to her trailer hitch), we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and then took in the new Muppet movie. It was surprisingly funny. I laughed way more than I thought I would.

Today, I came in to find that our primary domain controller was down, yet again-- this time thanks to a power outage. And it's really down. In fact, I fear it might be hosed. Not exactly how I wanted to start the week.

So here I sit waiting on the server to finish running a chkdisk, whining to you guys.

Several years ago (in fact, close to two decades ago), my church went on a mission trip to Pueblo, CO. Great trip, did some VBS with young kids, built a new church building, held revival meetings in the evening, etc.
On the way home, we stopped in Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo the TEXAS outdoor musical. Very good event, surprise to most of us. (Bonus: I discovered the young lady that played the lead girl that year was one of my classmates in college...all I can say is ).
Anyhoo, near the end of the show, there was a big dramatic moment and

A huge lightning bolt was generated as part of the show

Point being, if you have insurance on the box, perhaps...... :D

What a day, just came in from sitting on the front porch. Cup of hot coffee, said hi to a couple of neighbors. This retirement thing is the best gig going. It is so quiet out there. Gotta re-fill on the coffee and back to the porch.

A few weeks ago, I noticed that one of our security camera systems was down. I told the boss, and pointed out that there was really only one vendor in the tri-state area that works on them and asked if I should call and have them come out and fix it. He said ,"Yes, you might as well. We need the cameras back up."

    So I did.

Well, after giving us a loaner and repairing the computer, they sent us a bill for something like $700. Which, in my opinion is high, but if that's the price, that's the price. Anyway, I got my butt chewed today because I didn't get a quote first. I wasn't told to get a quote first. There wasn't a point in getting a quote... it had to be done. It wouldn't have made me so mad, but I got this call in the middle of trying to figure out what to do about the domain controller (financial/student data server) still being down due to a bad drive in the raid array.

I mean really? Is this when you want to talk down to me like a child? Kiss my...

I'm rejoicing today as we're finally getting some good rainfall in NorCal. Better late than never.

Been there... Done that... At least it can't fsck your whole day!

Mine was equally effected by power outages due to grid upgrades at out main campus. Source control (of which about 300+ rely upon) was down since Friday until someone realized they forgot to turn the NAS back on... Rookie move by our IT!

Then I think my HDD is on its way out, as performance is now in the toilet - 30 mins to launch Win 7 VM in a system that used to boot the same VM in under a minute - - then I find out I'm starting a new project tomorrow the relies heavily on VM's and my new machine is probably 2-3 weeks out. Que sera sera?

My day so far! Hmm. Work in the NHS, started day at a minor injury unit.. Then onto a medical ward. Followed by a drive to another hospital and straight into dispensing for two elderly mental health wards.. Still 1/4 final second leg of the EIHL ice hockey tournament this evening, if I get away!!! It's one hell of a way to wind down, watching the Brits, Canadians and American players knocking seven shades of shite out of each other...
