I have a proposal regarding high school graduation ceremonies. The amount effort expended in the planning and production of the ceremony should be commiserate with the amount of effort expended by the students throughout the year. I can see it now. A janitor walks on stage with a megaphone... "Here comes some kid getting his diploma. And another. And another. And another. Yay you. Now everybody please leave quickly, and pick up after yourselves on the way out, I want to get home in time to the NCIS finale."
"And remember, you're all special and unique little snowflakes and precious tea cups and the world owes you."
Just returned home from the 86th annual Colorado FFA convention - I think this is my 35th, so I am sort of used to it. But, 3 days with 1400 super motivated teenagers always kicks off my summer break and I am excited. Saw some old friends, made some new friends. I really enjoyed the time I spent with the 7 students from my school and how much fun it is too be out of teacher mode and fully into advisor mode for this time. But, I'm really looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight and snuggling up with momma!
@richgem one of your distant kinsfolk has taken a liken to my blueberry bush. Can you shoot it an email and ask it to relocate?
Hmm.. I'm not sure Dapper. Which distant kinsfolk are we talkin' about? Some of them hillbilly penguins can be down right ornery.
I've discovered alcoholic ginger beer (crabbie's) and I think I may be in love. Tho, Trader Joe's non-alcoholic ginger beer takes the cake on spiciness and flavor. Both go really nicely with Asian food, too.
It is ok. Went to an antique store and they sold the old German travel razor I wanted, but I should have purchased it when I had the chance. I pretty much give up looking for Razors around here. Ordered two more pucks of Da Fat since Royal Shave has it on sale. So When I get my MWF in and the blades I am waiting on I will be set for a few years.
Oh dear! Well, the only thing to do is hope that the moonshine runs out and she has to relocate to get more.
I know someone who has fallen in love with Crabbie's ginger beer recently. I'll have to pick up some of TJ's ginger non-beer for him. Thanks, Rich!
You're welcome! TJ's has two brands, both are non-alcoholic. One, I forget the name, comes in a green glass bottle six-pack and is easily available... this is the spiciest and it comes with a light touch of lemon and makes a great dark and stormy. The other one is available only during the holidays and is TJ's house brand. This one comes in a green quart (?) bottle with an olde tyme flip top stopper. It's not as spicy, imho, but doesn't have the touch of lemon and it's the one they say flies off their shelves when it's available. Both are spicier (gingery-er) than Crabbie's.
Since you are on the subject of craft brewed sodas I must recommend Virgils Cream Soda and Orange Cream Soda. If you like Licorice you might even like their Root Beer.
Virgils cream is quite nice. I'll have to look for the others. I only very rarely have soda, but a little sample won't hurt. due disclosure: About 10 years ago, I gave up (with no real struggle) any non-clear (dark colored) sodas after reading about the probable horrors of caramel color.
THAT explains why I didn't care for the Virgils Root Beer - licorice. There was something about it that I couldn't put my finger on. I don't care for licorice.
