I believe that after today a photo of me should appear when looking up the word "Procrastinating" in the Encyclopedia Britanica.

    Is that still a thing?

So I did an os upgrade along with the hardware to the Ubuntu 12.04..super stable. The 14 Lts has apparently some kinds of bugs or other. Now the 12 has unity..of course and you know I don't hate it..I know I should, but don't. Kinda grows on you..like a fungus...

easy enough to install KDE or whatever you prefer

what bugs do you mean? I have Kubuntu 14.04.2 LTS on 2 different boxes (one desktop, one netbook) with no probs.

Ubuntu has come such a long way. Aren't they up to v15 now though?

Really not sure about the specifics, but I got the info from my brother..he's in IT and so far has never steered me wrong. The K version you have might be different, but I just run the regular. Thought about KDE and adding gnome to the 12, but everything seems to be peachy the way it is. Yes there's that extra click thing, but I can get large print and the unity has a way of saving vertical space. So guess gonna stick with it and see how it goes...
Ya most likely, but I just hang on to the LTS..beta versions make me nervous and prone to the dreaded strotska..

It's just the 'buntu base with KDE desktop instead of unity/gnome/etc.

Thanks this does sound like a plan..though I really don't hate unity..really. I bit down the road, will be looking into getting an old machine for testing and storage and that could be a good place to check out the KDE. Right now all seems to be srotska free and lol I aim to keep it that way...

You can download a "live" version of KDE to a flash drive, then boot off the flash drive. You can test run KDE (tho it will be slow) without changing anything on your machine changing. Just shutdown, yank the flash drive, and switch on. Everything is back to your normal set up.

Ok this looks like a possible patska plan..<ppp>. I need to get a drive to fish out data on the old machine.. so when the plate is clearer the ppp can be invoked...

I had a great shave today! I used my Razorock Stealth Slant with a Polsilver Blade,Whipped Dog shave brush and Art of Shaving soap in their Sandalwood scent (pretty good but a little overpriced soap) and my wonderful Captain's Choice lathering bowl. I finished off my shave with an after shave balm from Arko and the Fine Platinum aftershave splash. Very satisfying!

Besides, they can count to six on their fingers. How many flippers have penguins got again? ;)

I don't think I've ever appreciated a shower quite so much as I did this morning. I'm clean, my hair is washed & I am free of what felt like 20 pounds of bandages.
