I went for a brief shoot today. I still have pink-eye; it’s less itchy, but my eyes are still kind of red & puffy. My vision is a little bit off, but that’s not entirely a bad thing as it forces me to focus on my technique.

    I'm enjoying an ad-free day :)

I once paid for the Tapatalk app way back in 2013. Yesterday I found out that I am entitled to lifetime VIP membership because of that. So, no ads anymore.

So if you are a Tapatalk user, it's worth checking out if you ever paid for the app in the past!

I was supposed to go to a tournament today, but had to skip it, asI am still infectious. (I am a bit disappointed, but there will be other tournaments.) So I am having a quiet day at home, working on my plants.

    Malcolm Young passed away :(

He suffered from dementia already for quite some time.

Today I did some Secret Santa work (coupling Santas to 'victims' and PM-ing addresses to the partakers). Then I had me a nice nap accompanied by Max Richter's Sleep (an eight hour lullaby - you should try it!).

I also ordered a facsimile book from a 1753 series about the history of The Netherlands (the complete work contains over 25 books, some describing provinces, some about just one city). I've got about seven parts myself (describing Zeeland), but this one is for my stepdad, who is interested in the history of Vlissingen (Flushing). We're having our own Secret Sinterklaas in the family.

    Title page:

First page of the chapter about Vlissingen:

The books even contain maps and etchings

Oh, and I just repaired (more to the point: cleaned) my mouse wheel. Now I can scroll again to my heart's content. :)

That looks like a great book and a nice clear picture. But... it's all in Dutch!

I noticed some of the old grammar forms, but I was most surprised to see " 't " in a formal book/print. Assuming, I'm correct in taking it for "het." (I know 't can be used slangly in speech, but I never thought I'd see it in a formal book.) BTW, I'm personally at war today with "om..te" constructions. ;) Yeah, I get how to use them, but I got tripped up on a few more complex examples on Duo today.

    't Is true, " 't " stands for "het".

I' ve got a nice "om ... te" for you:

    No spoiler needed! :)

Back to your photo... also interesting to see that nouns used to be capitalized like in German. But, looks like I can read a little old Dutch too. Actually, it's not too different if you know a few tricks. :)

I’m driving to San Diego today to visit my kids and Grandson for the holidays. On the way I had a lunch date and excursion to the Old Town Shaving Company with @twhite
What a great time with a truly nice guy. 2 1/2 hours flew by. Thanks Tom.

I went to Lowe’s to pick up a few things. I saw that the toy tool kits/power tools for kids were displayed prominently. I was particularly pleased to see that each set included a kid-sized pair of goggles. Children should learn good safety procedures early.

Today was my first day of work in a very long time of being unemployed. :happy093: I was a little anxious, due to being away from working so long, but it was a good day! :D
