How's your Day? - September 2013

I spent much of last night tweaking my new desktop and managed to get wifi printing set up with a new all-in-one (epson wf-2530)... I had to do a bit of reading, but once I knew what I was doing, it installed easily and everything WORKS! yeah! Then, I pushed it and also set up wifi printing to this printer on my laptop. That took a bit of tinkering, but I got that to work as well.



One question tho.... how do I prevent others on my network from printing to this printer? ie: allow only my desktop and my laptop to access it. I have the same username (tho probably different UIDs) on both computers.

 

Probably the easiest is to set up a hidden SSID that only your computers and printer are on

A good day. I've got a couple of chickens on the rotisserie on my gas grill now, hoping it doesn't rain since I have an extension cord to the rotisserie motor.

Spent the afternoon putting soaps in my old spice mugs and moving aftershaves from plastic bottles to old spice bottles and using my label maker.


The soap name in the back is intentionally blocked, it's the TSD SOTQ.

 

Had a weekend full of ups and downs.

My aunt got moved to rehab! Yay! A dear friend (the man who baptised me) died. ugh. I bought a brand new Nook Simple Touch, case, and charger for less than $40 total, plus I got a $5 credit from Barnes & Noble! Yay! Spent the bulk of yesterday in bed with a migrain. ugh. Our six-man football team won by mercy rule on Saturday! Yay!

As you can see, roller-coaster weekend. I'm still quite stoked about the ups, though!

Switched ISPs at work. Things went much more smoothly than expected.

We have quadrupled our speed and will save $11k over the course of the contract.

Feel like I did a full day worth of work and it isn't even noon yet...

 

We recently doubled our bandwidth, at about 1/10th cost. Boss said if they'd ever told him price early enough, he would have bought more

Just finished mowing the lawn. Front, back, sides - 20 minutes.
Yup, small yard. REAL small yard.
Only about two more cuts left in the season.

 

My vintage 2001 Cadi is in the shop...Starting really rough. Man I hope I don't have to replace a starter!!! I love not having a car payment, but if it is a starter, looks like I may have one this month!

 

Cut the grass after almost 2 weeks. It was aerated and overseeded. Then I took the new bike out for a ride. It was perfect riding weather today.

 

My day is freakin' awesome! There are more and more great wetshaving products every day, with an ever increasing number of stores selling them (one of which I just discovered).
