Today's been pretty hectic. Work is busy as ever due to flu shot season being here. Can't wait to get home today.
Just installed Kubuntu 13 on a new desktop and after much grief and 4 different WiFi adapters, I got WiFi up and running too. Phew. Screenshot to follow once I get everything tweaked and my data brought over from my old box.
So much sinus pressure in my skull. And of course when I'm all drippy, sneezy and loaded with coughing fits - I get told we have a parade tomorrow morning. ARGH.
Ahh..well good luck with it. I'm thinking of Mint these days as the Ubuntu upgrades haven't really worked out..too many bugs. Lol it was hard on the stomach...
Thanks! So far so good. I've only played with Mint a little bit, but I've heard good things about it. Fedora is my prefered distro, but for some reason, it wouldn't run on my new desktop or my current netbook/laptop. I think it has something to do with EFI, in the case of the desktop, but I havent' really looked into it. As for the netbook, it has to do with the particular ATOM processor, IIRC.
Glad all is well so far. At this point, my level of expertise isn't quite up to Fedora. It's liable to give me the strotska.. So in order to avoid any unfortunate gastric consequences, I try to stick with the maximum possible friendliness distributions. Good to hear more positive feedback on the Mint...
Father, I pray You will bring quick relief and healing to Justin, for his blessing and Your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen. I've never tried one. Don't know if I could bring myself to ever trying one.
The first time or two is a little weird, I'll admit, but because the water is saline balanced, you don't get the "pool water up the nose" feeling. The other possible reaction some experience is the "I'm drowning," but if you relax and breathe, you don't even notice what you're doing. One thing to avoid are the cans of saline spray... so I'm told, they can cause inner ear problems b/c the saline is under too much pressure. The Neti Pot is gravity fed and gentle.
My wife loves using the Neti Pot. Me? When I've used it, I still feel like I'm a kid again learning how to swim in the ocean—inhaling more water than I care to. That being said, the end results (congestion relief) always seem to be worth the initial momentary discomfort.
I feel fairly violated, but my mortgage pre-qual is done. I should have a smoke, but I quit so I am having a drink instead.
...sneak sneak sneak... Hello? My goodness, what a week...and it isn't about to let up any time soon. But, daughter's team played well in the first volleyball game of the year and won both sets. Tomorrow night, another away football game. Fortunately, no volleyball tournament tomorrow. Daughter actually made the "A" team, but because she's playing in the high school band (as a 7th grader), it conflicted with the A team schedule, so she was moved to the B team, which doesn't go to tournaments. She's a little bit disappointed, but she understands. To stay on A team, would mean drop being the high school band. The band directors were pretty adamant they didn't want to lose her, so B team it is. Son hasn't gotten his soccer schedule or team assignment yet, so that's still up in the air. But, needless to say, there's only 4 Thursdays and maybe 2 Saturdays for the next 3 months where there's not something "extra" going on. Time to hang on for the ride, I reckon
