Oh yeah, what exactly happened? I know that I did it, but I do not understand why the software crashed. What does it mean when you say that I exceeded what the software says is possible?
The way vbulletin is written... the software views a post that long as impossible. When it took way longer than usual to serve up the post, the software assumed something was broken (since it feels no post would be that long) and stopped. In actuality, nothing was broken, I just removed the post and all is well.
So, it really would be impossible to multi-quote the entire "Hows Your Day" thread? That is good to know, because I was seriously thinking about taking a couple days and doing it!!
Wow, now, that was really stupid! What else do you do on a friday? Try to run the car on a petrol/sugar mix?
Just a friendly request - I know this was a simple fix, and only affected the one thread - but it would be nice if we didn't, in our spare time, try to test just how far you can push the software here. It is a shaving website, not a computer software evaluation platform. Reminds me of my wife's young cousins who come to visit, and we spend at least a day figuring out how they have screwed up things around the house.
Mike - I don't think any of us were willingly trying to push the software here. Maybe some of us do stupid things sometimes, but we're not trying to break anything. (Other than kneecaps, of course).
Nah, it's all good. I had forgotten the reference to "ungentlemanly" from a little while back. Meant to be a joke - I was just slow on the uptake.
