Some have all the luck. To have the ability to get 4 sets of scales custom made for 4 TI's. I only have pics of three of them so far. I'm still working on the yellow heart... In Desert Ironwood / CA finish... In Lined Maple Burl / CA finish In Lined Cinnamon Burl / CA finish Anybody allow $10 bucks apiece on 'em?
Holy Moley!! Wow, wow, wow.... at least the guy knew where to go to get the work done! Bill those are just gorgeous... absolutely gorgeous!
took my breath away Bill, I almost dropped from my Chair here.... :drool :drool :drool I like nr 2 and 3.. gorgeous ... I have a straight razor enroute to Lynn , I pray it arrives soon because it has been shipped 2 weeks ago from Canada to USA to me that is really strange to take such a long time really beginning to get worried a bit. the guy claims Lynn will have to sign for receipt of the package so I dont know if its insured or not or just registerd package delivery. I won that razor last year in November, oh long story seller didnt accept paypal so Jeff was kind enough to pay the razor for me with a canadian check. I will give it a test drive as soon as Lynn has honed and send me the razor the scales it has are not bad but yours are on a different level really makes it a personal treasure one of a kind.... thanks for sharing....... I will find you when the time is ripe.
Wow!! Those look Incredible Bill, Guess I need to get some TI's and send them off to you. TI's IMO have beautiful blades but the stock scales look horrible.. Very nice work Bill!!
I guess I could include one more pic of the butt of the razor. I have identified a lot of my restorations by this method. If you happen to have one, hang on to it 'cause when I die it'll be worth at least $5. These gemstones are ruby and emerald. I also use diamonds and cz's. More cz's these days cause ya can't tell the difference. Notice the dust from one of the last processes. All I gotta do now is remember who paid for them...
Raising the BAR!!! well they just look awesome, practice,practice,practice....to make them look like liquid is brilliant, i love that finish...i was lucky enough to have a set made for me by a kiwi we all ,well some of us know, and i havent had the heart to use it yet because the scales are so pretty, the scales incidentally were fiddleback kauri andd they have an awesome finish too....well bill i dont have a cool hat like the one you have, so i will raise a baseball cap to ya... Simon :drool
showing off again Bill I see, remember I said I got a spot at the markets ,last Wednesday was my first go ,what a disappointment, poored with rain and no sales, plenty of tyre kickers and advice from the public, a couple of them owned a custom knife ,and of course that made them bloody experts, its hard to be polite when you really want to hang one on them, hard!,I will keep going till I recover my doe with insurance and all, then piss it off ,I don`t have the temperament to deal with dick heads,or mabey it was just a bad day Sorry for the bitch and winge Bill, as I said ,bloody nice work, but then again I would expect nothing less, hope all is going well lin your neck of the woods. As always Kind regards Peter PS Bill you are selling yourself short ,10 bucks bloody hell mate ,I`ll give you 20 Pss $AU ofcourse
Potential buyers and tire kickers can definitely test your patience. The weather probably had more to do with it than anything. I have gone to two knife shows where I got skunked (no sales) and others where I've sold 20 or more knives when the knifemaker next to me got skunked. It wasn't 'cause my knives were that much better, either. Just one of those things that goes with the territory. Don't get discouraged. Remember what I said, anyway... you're not gonna get rich doing this kind of work. You have to want to do it for the accomplishment that is made.
Maybe I didn't miss you that much you purveyor of porn Btw, I'm pretty sure my razor's gonna be scaled with the cinnamon burl. drool, drool
Don't do it. STEP BACK FROM THE STRAIGHTS! They are addicting... and there's no turning back. I still use a DE as well... just don't tell anyone.
Not me. I want to have one half decent str8 to play with though. I'm very happy with my DEs and Sensor (for non checked baggage trips.
Bill those scales are outstanding!!!!! I am curious can you tell me what model the last two TI's are and where purchase them? Thanks Damon
Thanks for the compliment. I don't actually know the model number, but I think they came from Classic Shaving. I just replaced the stock scales for someone else.
But, how-come my TI razors don't have scales like that? Damn it Bill! Just when I was content with the razors I had, and my current restorations, you had to go and post this crap. Damn it. (sign....Ok, don't get jealous.....) YES, yes, nice work Bill, AS always. C utz
