I already had the right answer for you, so you did not have to go to Matt. I am more knowledgeable than Matt, thank you!
I really did not doubt what you said it made sense, but it’s always good to double verify if not triple verify. Matt at Razor Emporium is always a good source for information. Happy Shaves, Bill G
well, unfortunately the USPS is having issues due to really bad weather in Omaha Nebraska. I got two razors including this one held up there or lost in transit. I hope I eventually get them and I am keeping my fingers crossed. The USPS just gives you the run around when you try to get information from them. It’s a waiting game now. I hope these razors don’t get completely lost. Happy Shaves, Bill G
Well the razor it arrived today and over all it’s a very nice razor. There is a very very small trace of the original Rhodium on the handle down next to the TTO knob and It’s so small a trace the camera does not really pic it up well. So Matt at Razor Emporium was 100% right about this razor and the Rhodium being wore off or buffed off. It’s a cool looking razor and functions as it should. * A quick wash and brush with a soft tooth brush with Dawn soap and hot water then a light quick wipe on the nickel areas with a yellow Jewlers cloth. (See Pic’s). It’s all ready to shave with now. Happy Shaves Everyone, Bill G
So it is a Brass finish now? Send it out to Back Roads Gold. They do the best work I have seen to date. https://backroadsgold.com/gold-electroplating-services/ .
Yes, that seems to be the case. Whoever removed the Rhodium on the handle did a fantastic job. The razor looks like it came factory this way and it looks great. Back Roads Gold does nice work.I had Chris re-plate a couple of razors for me a few years back. I like the looks of the razor as is (two tone) and for now I plan on leaving it as is. Maybe someday I will have it done Rhodium handle Nickel head like when it was new (original finish). Happy Shaves, Bill G
