The strange thing is that you actually feel that you NEED all your stuff.. I have 114 shave soaps and I wouldn wanna sell ONE of them.. So yes.. Youre fully (not) normal - welcome to the madness
I'm thinking about selling one of my Stratocaster guitars to buy some more straight razors. now that is crazy.
Hiya Thomas........your post made me smile a bit. I remember when you only had eighty soaps..........glad to see things are moving right along. For those of you who don't know Thomas very well, you might like to click on that link to his assorted shaving items. He actually may be understating things, since I don't believe he counted the creams in that 114 total.......... Heh, I do get a kick out of reading posts like these. Martin
Well my third Merkur razor has arrived today. Just shaved with it and applied the Musgo real. Think I need to order some speick This is a slipery slope
Before I joined about a week ago, I had one merkur adjustable and a mug of soap. Since joining, I have placed 2 orders! I'm wondering how do I explain all these packages to my wife when they start coming? I know her comment is going to be, what's the big deal about shaving? How do I respond??????
I have all my purchases sent to the office!!!! Let her know that it is something you enjoy and a hobby that gives you pleasure and relieves stress. My wife didn't understand it at 1st. Since I told her what it meant to me and showed her the razors and explained the years they were made, etc. and let her help me pick scents and stuff, she thinks it is cool....a bit odd but cool.
In the real world it is definitely not normal. But then, do you really want to be normal in the real world? :happy097
Somewhere on one of these shaving fora I was reading how much money I would save switching from the very expensive Fusion cartridges to the sooo very much cheaper DE blades. Well now I have a whole bathroom full of creams, soap, blades several razors, and brushes (the good thing is that I make my own brushes) plus AS's, ASB's, EdT's etc., etc. - its like an addiction (isn't it?). I think I could have bought Fusion cartridges for the next 50 years with the money I dropped so far.... But I really enjoying my new way of shaving.
I don't have that much gear & I am perfectly normal.::kar :angry019 happy001 you got some good stuff!
Ugh, I just started a few weeks ago. Bought the T&H 1805 stuff, bought the Trumper Rose 2 weeks ago. I go see my barber on Saturday and am sure I'll get something else. Hell I spent an hour in the barber shop last week just smelling everything...again. My problem is if I like one smell I end up with the shave cream, soap/body wash, cologne and balm/aftershave; and anything else he might have on the shelf. Except the pre-shave oil, I've just been using grapeseed oil. My birthdays in a few months and my GF is already making a list of everything I "need".
I just past a landmark 100 items in the shave den, although not all at one time some things are gone from the shave den to be replaced by others. So you see captain dave, acquisition disorder is not unusal here.
Yeah so I see. Ive added since that last post Speick AS and ASB Alum Block Been reading the site again I think I like the sound of cooling so I think some Poraso with menthol should be ordered next which means Ill need the corresponding AS and ASB and probably some of that Goraj menthol mist stuf as well while I'm at it. oh and some lavender as well.
I seems pretty common, which makes it even funnier. My GF saw me on this site last night and started giving me a hard time. My next purchase might just be a DE razor. I love the scents of everything but having the right razor just seems too important.
