I'm sad......

I don't make the cannabis connection....It smells nothing like marijuana to me. I use it often. Clubman AS with Jeris hair tonic leaves me barber shop fresh for hours.

 

You can't please all the people all of the time. If she says Clubman smells like weed, then it does - to her at least. Scent preferences vary quite a bit. If people around you wrinkle their noses or otherwise express discontent, then it is time to look for an alternative. Fortunately, there are lots of alternatives. Perhaps one of these would be find favor both with you and with your girlfriend:

Speick for Men - This aftershave has a rather spicy, citrusy smell

Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice - Apparently most women love this one, although most of them hate bay rum scents. I think it is because a lot of bay rums have clove added. For some reason, a lot of women dislike clove scents. Krampert's is clove-free as far as I can tell, and smells great IMHO. It has really good skincare, too.

Tabac - The scent of the shaving soap garnered a "Mmmmmm.... this smells really GOOD!" comment from one Miss Very Particular. They make an aftershave, too.

NYR Men Aftershave Balm - This one has a very nice scent

Of course, scent being subjective, it might make sense to ask your girlfriend what kinds of scents she likes and start from there.

 

I tried Clubman once and had hippie chicks crawling all over me. Thank God for the free love movement.

 

The Veg reminds me of the sweat lodge at a peyote ritual.

Yes, I know. I gave my bottle to my 82yr old mom. She enjoys it. Reminds her of her favorite cologne, Miss Dior, only cheaper. I'm glad someone is wearing it.

 

I know what you mean. A lot of folks identify anything powdery as the dreaded "old person smell". It is a lot like identifying the patchouli scent with stoned-out hippies.

 

Funny how this is so hit or miss. I don't consider myself to be old (39) but I really like it and my wife.... WELL she loves it! As far as I am concerned, sold!

 

I wonder how she would react going into an old school barbershop since 9/10 times there is going to be Clubman and Clubman Talc in use.

 

I hope you two can reach a happy medium on it. Clubman is worth the effort.

 

What kind of pot has she been smoking?
Get some of this for comparison. Maybe she will change her mind

 

Or... try some of the other things Clubman has to offer, like the Special Reserve (a more tobacco scent), Vanilla or Bay Rum.
