@Spyder I actually do frequently. I've gotten to where now I mostly use mentholated soaps on Menthol-Monday. Most of the time I use non mentholated soaps but at least use a mentholated aftershave like Osage Rub and/or Aqua Velva.
I'm liking the menthol lately, but I'm too much of a wuss to handle the Cryogen, like you menthol animals I love the glacial wintergreen though. I'll be ordering more Stirling menthol soaps for sure
I find that between the Cryogen and the new Glacial soaps, the difference is just very slight when it comes to menthol power. These new Glacials are right up there. In other words, they can make almost all other mentholated soaps feel almost insignificant.
I have naked and smooth and sharp dressed man. Both deliver luxurious lather, great protection, and in the case of one, no smell, the other, nice light manly scent. In my regular rotation.
Noticed quite a few new soaps when I checked the Stirling website this morning, Black Pepper Lime, Coconut Lime, Iced Pineapple, Iced Coffee, Island Man & South Padre. Looks like it's time to stock up.....Again
Damn, I would've got a sample of Iced Coffee it'd been there when I ordered. Oh well. Can anyone here comment on the scent of Iced Coffee? I've been looking for a coffee scented soap that is mostly coffee scented: All the ones I've come across seem to be more latté-like (Reef Point, Soapy Bathman, Catie's Bubbles etc)
just had my first shave with stirling exec. man last night.....one of, if not the best soaps i have used to date...very very easy to lather and produces a lot of very dense lather...it is provides a great slickness through the whole shave and the scent is great.....very good first impression for me
Frozen Tundra on tap for tomorrow morning. Not quite the Glacial super-mega-freeze, but still damn cold! (Ain't nothin' wrong with the scent, lather, and post-shave care either!)
Stirling Sharp Dressed Man Got a sample, and, my impression would probably not be liked by many people. It is an ok performer. Easy enough to lather, not spectacular, slick enough. I'm ok with that, having in mind the price. Was not expecting nothing spectacular. Not the best performer for the price, but not the worse. On my face, managed to produce an allergic reaction. Burning sensation right from first application. Managed to use it once. Used it yesterday, for a single painful pass, tried it again today, but did not went with shaving, just washed it off. Scent is not spectacular. I must say that i never smelled Creed Irish Tweed. Anyway, this soaps smells like generic summer/fresh cologne. It might be nice to find that kind of fragrance in shaving soap simply because they are not many with those kind of smell, but, i also get an odd smell around it, like plastic or something around those lines. Can't put my finger on it, but i don't like it at all. Performance - 7/10 Scent - 3/10
Just received Island Man sample and also the bath soap. As soon as I smelled it I regretted not getting a full puck along with the after shave splash. What comes to mind when I smell it is Creeds Virgin Island Water (I'm thinking it must have been modeled after it) a very clean, refreshing summery scent. If this came out in an Iced or Glacial version it would be amazing! I haven't shaved with it yet but I expect it will be every bit as good as the other Stirling soaps I have. Looks like we have another winner!
I just received four pucks: Glacial Spearmint, Glacial Wintergreen, Barber Shop, and British Leather. Love them all, especially the British Leather. My daughter picked this as her favorite too. I happened to get the British Leather as well, and I am glad I did. I love the scent. That will be my shave in the morning. Rod also sent a sample of Coniferous and Island Man. I love both of these, but the Island man is fantastic. I may have to find an excuse to place another order and get a full puck of this one.
I used the Glacial Lemon Chill soap this morning. It's from a last year's batch but it's absolutely magnificent. So much rich, creamy lather which exploded off my brush and a menthol bombardment which could make a polar bear's teeth chatter. For Sunday morning I have the Glacial Wintergreen soap on tap with the matching a/s balm and witch hazel. Yikes, am I ever going to freeze my tukhis off!
