Which means there are quite a few soaps that are equally good, Stirling among them. Given that, it would seem logical to take that group of soaps and select the lowest priced option - killer awesome soap and maximum savings. That is why I rank Stirling as the best of the artisan soaps and use Van Der Hagen Deluxe as my daily shaving soap. There is a lot to be said for top quality and value for the money, much more so when the two are combined. Of course, everything is not 8-10. I only wish it were.
got my second order in a week ago...sharp dressed man and tuscany....sharp dressed man is a pretty good scent (not my fav. but i do like it)...and tuscany is a great scent...to me they all perform the same way, so its just a matter of scent...exec. man is my favorite so everything will be compaired to that, and i will say again that i am a cologne scent kind of guy....with that said tuscany is something i will buy again but i do have the exec. man soap and ASB, with the AS on the way...big fan of stirling.
Glacial Spearmint this morning - froze my face to smithereens. A shot of Osage Rub and it feels like a block of ice.
I just tried the new summer small batch soap from Stirling, Island Man. They made an excellent choice for a summer soap. The scent is fresh and light, described as: “An intoxicating blend of bergamot, lime, mandarin, coconut, jasmine, hibiscus, ylang-ylang, ginger, sugarcane, musk, and rum. It is based on Creed Virgin Island Water. I just loaded my brush for the usual 20 seconds and had a great 3-pass shave. It came poured in the new jar. The jars contain 5.8 ounces and the original refill pucks are 4.5 ounces. I really like the new jars! Ingredients: Beef Tallow, Stearic Acid, Distilled Water, Castor Oil, Vegetable Glycerin, Potassium & Sodium Hydroxide, Almond Oil, Lanolin, Shea Butter, Coconut Milk, Fragrance Oil, Clay, Sodium Lactate.
Had to give a thumbs up to Stirling on the new Ozark Mountain label, its going to be fun to see what they come up with for their other soaps.
I have four Stirling Soaps and I really love the way they perform. Executive Man - Nice but the one I like least. Sharp Dressed Man - The scent was exactly the way I imagined. I also have the post-shave balm. Margaritas in the Arctic - Wonderful summer soap. I also have the post-shave balm. Nag Champa - Makes me wanna go back to Kathmandu. Love it! I also have the post-shave balm.
Although I'm not the biggest fan of the soaps, I do enjoy the fragrances used in many of the Stirling products. the SDM is one my my regular aftershaves….
I am tempted to give the Nag Champa a try, being the old hippie that I am. How "head-shoppy" is the scent?
I really liked the Nag Champa scent. Rod sent it to me as a sample in one of my orders. I failed to pick up on the sandalwood in the scent, but not because the scent was lacking in any way. To me, Nag Champa smells very clean, a bit soapy but not like a bar of Safeguard or Dial, etc. I actually think I will order a full puck of Nag Champa in due time. It has been a while since I used it, so I don't remember the details as vividly now. I've used quite a few scents since the Nag Champa. I did write about it here in the this thread. It's probably no more than 3 pages back, but not even be that far back.
I agree Nag Champa is one of my favorites! I also have the asb. If you remember the incense smell in the head shops in bygone years, the scent will tickle the memory banks
I have SDM, EM, and Glacial Wintergreen and love all of them and I am ready to place another order the only problem is I don't know where to start next. Any suggestions from you guys on what I should choose next?
not sure what type of scents you are into, but if you dont have a sandalwood or like the scent they have a great sandalwood IMO...the vanilla sandalwood is also a great one....im not a fan of the ben franklin but YMMV, I prefer more cologne scents though...
I have never actually smelled sandalwood to my knowledge. Might pick up a sample puck to see how I like it. And I mostly open to all scents.
MITA... Just tried it this week. Love it. Glacial Obsidian is the only other Stirling I've tried, it's the coldest soap I own. ETA: it smells like lime and menthol.
