SE SOTD, Friday, November 24th 2023

Razor : Yaqi Romulus SSP SE AC - Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range. This is my first shave with this razor and it shaves similar to my Excalibur but slightly smoother possibly.
The razor performed well with not a lot blade feel which is nice for a daily shaver like myself + I found it forgiving similar to my Yaqi Excalibur but slightly different feel. As I use it more I will know what I can get away with from use.
I'm sure I will get BBS shaves because cheeks and jaw line where BBS and neck area was very slightly DFS++ I found (hardest area to get BBS with bumpier skin for most folks).
The handle has adequate grip + in my hand felt great and did not find it a problem with no or very minimal slippage (alum was not needed surprisingly with even damp fingers, for some might feel slippery-ness & could use alum on finger tips or a different handle possibly, everyone has different grips). A person could get mostly carefree shaves with little attention and could shave quickly also for those who are always in a hurry in the morning.
Not sure why Yaqi did not drill a hole in bottom of handle for their stand, there is room for this with a slightly thicker bottom neck area to accommodate a small hole for the receiver nib of stand .
So far so good with the Romulus + machining and finish QC are top notch workmanship IMO. The razor blade Yaqi sent with my Romulus SE razor is very sharp and smooth and I would almost bet it is a Feather pro blade (mine was sent in a small plastic zip-lock type bag (good idea for folks not knowing it use to be stored reverse in razor head as a complimentary blade).Had a excellent close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Feather pro (1) Very sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Cyril R Salter Wild Rose cream, nice rose fragrance 5-6/10 for scent strength with excellent lather qualities. Cyril R Salter creams I have tried are the Herbal Sandalwood and Wild rose and offer excellent protection and scents.
Brush : Yaqi "Robin" 24mm boar bristle brush. Excellent lather generator, soft split end hair tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Italian barber Amici with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + 1 weeper= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SE AC type razor with a Feather Pro blade.

Razor : Yaqi Romulus SE 316SSP with a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP (Darwin handle older look)- Mfg 2023>, mild to tame mid range(Depends on blade used). This little razor head works well on my face and gives a very decent shave, 2nd time using it.
I changed the handles up on my Original Romulus handle it arrived with just to see how the Yaqi Chippendale handle I bought last year felt and it seems to never let me down(it has been used on many new razor heads). The handle is 5 grams lighter than the Romulus handle sent(lighter than a lot of titanium handles) + has a hole in the bottom to receive the Yaqi stand pilot pin (It gives me the New & old look that appeals to me) + felt great with my normal grip feel when shaving. It will be designated to the Romulus for now.
The Romulus is indicating like others have already mentioned it has good efficiency and it works the face well (another reason I bought the Romulus, thanks fellows). With the Feather blade those whiskers did not stand a chance + my skin had no irritation. I will use this razor for about a 6-7 consecutive days with a few different razor shave offs(daily doubles) and different blades to test to see if it is a good daily driver.
Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Feather Professional(2) very sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity. 2nd shave is usually premium performance shaving with a Feather pro for myself I recall.
Soap : Razorock Lavender, nice masculine scent of lavender + very excellent lather qualities(discontinued) on my last 3rd tub.
Brush : Yaqi "Chianti's" 24mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, heavenly luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Nice handle on this brush to hold, whips up a quick lather also like a lot of synthetics.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis Lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close stellar comfortable shave this morning with my new Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP SE razor with a Feather pro 2nd use, usually sharp and smoothest #2 use with a feather for myself (Cotton ball tested for a nice BBs).

Sunday shave, November 26th 2023

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP + A Yaqi Chippendale SSP handle- Mfg 2021>, mild to tame mid range. Interesting design with small head parts. Very difficult to machine parts this small but Yaqi did a fine job with machining and finish QC. I like this nimble razor and works well on my face with good results. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Feather Pro(3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock Lavender, nice masculine scent of lavender + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Cola" 22 mm Plissoft synthetic. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. The handle fits well in my hand and very enjoyable brush to use.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King louis lavender + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP SE with a Feather pro blade. Feather blade is showing signs of dropping off a little already.
