SE SOTD, Friday, December 8th 2023

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316SSP 50mm AC type with a Yaqi 316 SSP Chippendale handle- Mfg 2023>, mild range. Excellent machined and finished QC. This little razor head works well if a person wants a mild razor ( great daily driver), if a person wants a slightly more aggressive shave with the Yaqi Romulus or Remus razors the Feather Super pro blade works or use a AC blade shim stoned cutting edge will reward you with a nice mid range shave. I have not ordered my Feather super pro blades yet (others have used the super pro confirmed mid range) so I have been experimenting with a AC blade stoned edge shim (3 shaves in) will increase gap by 10/ 1000 of inch and the results are spectacular(not overly aggressive IMO). Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning!
Blade : Kai SS Captain Titan mild (1)- Sharp & smoooth with reasonable longevity. I have used the Kai Protouch blade and enjoyed those blades with my Shavette( Kai uses the Capitan titan mild blade in their Protouch blade also). Kai SS Captain titan mild are very nice blades & work well with my Romulus razor IMO.
Soap : TOBS herbal sandalwood- nice scented herbal sandalwood that has a masculine fragrance with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka Express" 24mm synthetic knot. Excellent lather generator,
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Proraso red Sandalwood with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a stellar close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus with a Kai SS captain mild blade. (It does not get much better a shave for myself!)

The James of Hudson Street Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #447 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Supply SE Injector and a Supply Black Label Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Humphrey's Witch Hazel and then Aqua Velva 5 in 1 ASB. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

Consecutive shave 85 with the Bunny V2.2 and 73 with the Personna 74 loaded. I really like the Phoenix Artisan accoutrements Mega Flora. It lathers so easily.

The Jeeves of Hudson Street Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #447 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the 1907 Gem Jr. Lather Catcher and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. Razor : Yaqi Excalibur SE 50mm AC type- Mfg 2021>, mild to tame mid range. Reasonable accurate cast Zamak razor head with good coating. Small head parts make it easier to work on a wash cloth when assembling parts and disassemble. I like to use this razor because it seems to give a close comfortable shave that lasts, 95%> of the time. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick proline(3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Razorock Lavender, nice masculine scented lavender with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Purple haze" 24mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock King Louis lavender with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur with a Schick proline blade.

Razor : Gem Junior bar lather catcher - Mfg 1907-11, mild range. Great razor for that time era and workmanship detail is excellent for scrolling on the back. I like to use my lather catchers when fresh blade is 1-3 uses to produce close comfortable shaves it seems most of the time, Newbies might not think so but seasoned shavers would agree IMO. The razor performs just as good as 110 years ago or better with the Gem SS PTFE blade(Gem did not offer coated blades back then). Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (2) very sharp, great longevity, smoooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Lavender- nice masculine scented lavender with excellent lather qualities.(obsolete) on my 3rd and last tub.
Brush : Yaqi "Aqua" 24mm 3band badger. Excellent lather generator, soft pillow like tips, great splay scrubber + great lather painter. I think this 3band badger is a better lather painter than scrubber IMO.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ach Brito Lavada with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Gem Jr bar lather catcher with a Gem coated blade.

I made it to my goal of 74 consecutive shaves with the same Personna 74 loaded in the Bunny V2.2 And a total of 86 consecutive shaves with the Bunny V2.2. The blade is still shaving reasonably well, so for now I will leave it in the razor and decide later weather or not to change it. But for now at least I'm going to give the Bunny a bit of a rest. If I didn't have several recent razor acquisitions waiting for there first shaves I'd just keep going.
