The Proraso Sandalwood Shaving Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #292 High Mountain White Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Ever-Ready Lather Catcher and a Personna GEM SS PTFE Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Duru Cologne After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Yesterday's shave was with a Mark Cross razor my parents picked up at an antique shop. I loaded a Personna Injector blade. The spring held it in place quite well. I really like the weight of this razor and it was easy to find the shave angle. It was a mostly smooth shave but I did end up with a little irritation on problem spots on my neck. Overall a good shave though.

The PSC Caffeinated Shaving Cream lathered well with the Red and Black Badger Brush by Tom. Two passes and touch ups with the Red and Black Old Type by T. White and a Pro 500 Super Platinum Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Osage Rub. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

I had an excellent shave this morning with my new to me Schick A1 and a fresh Personna 74. What a wonderful combination.

SE SOTD, Wednesday December 27th 2023

Razor : Ever-Ready 1924(AKA shovel head) with a Ever-Ready Streamline stropping handle- Mfg 1924-33, tame mid range with a RIGS shim. Excellent design for that era with interesting back to open blade installation. The razor was designed for the older thicker splined so I add a spent spline modern Aluminum spline(RIGS Shim) to raise it slightly to mimic the older spline. Had a wonderful close comfortable shave this morning. Good to be back home in my comfort zone when it comes to shaving.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (4) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : Razorock Irish countryside with witch hazel- very unique scented soap with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Sagrada Familia"22 mm 2band badger. Excellent lather generator, pillow like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter. One of my nicest badger brushes for my shaving needs. Handle is smaller than most other Yaqi handles.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Irish Countryside with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Ever-ready 1924 shovel head with a coated Gem blade.
