Injector and SE Shaves

SE SOTD, Friday, Aug 27th 2021

Razor: Valet Auto-strop C1 Canadian variant- MFG 1920's, modified blade gab from 11/1000" to 7/1000 of inch & it made this old interesting razor into a smooth comfortable razor from a prior aggressive razor. I like using it a lot more & is in my rotation for years.
Blade: Gem Personna SS PTFE(1) very sharp, great longevity, smooths out nicely & predictable. Best SE blade for cost and shave IMO.
Soap: Ogallala Bayrum with Sandalwood, nice scent with great lather qualities.
Brush: Yaqi Artic sky 24mm synthetic, excellent lather generator, heavenly cloud like soft tips, nice scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave: Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of Clear Aloe Vera gel on the cleaned beard area.
Prep: Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups.
Post shave: witch hazel + Ogallala Bayrum with Sandalwood + a dollop of Nivea with 2 drops of HA.
Results: CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers = excellent shave with my Valet auto-strop C1 model + a modified Gem coated blade.

Parker injector V2, Personna injector blade, shave 1


First go round with the newly redesigned version of this razor. One of the biggest problems I found with the V1 is it just flat out didn't shave with Personna blades, the ones they bundle with the razor with. For this shave I put one in and cranked it all the way up to see if they work now. They do and it is much more aggressive at the 5 setting, aggressive enough you can get something that resembles a shave with a Personna blade now. Not quite a BBS finish but close. Peeps with less wiry or thick beards should get a better result making an otherwise good idea in practice an actual usable tool.

A very straightforward Shave today, smooth and comfortable with a Top Notch finish. I am using the Stirling brush quite a lot recently, having previously neglected it thinking it was too large. Discovered that it was ideal for lathering up in a standard sized bowl, and it is very soft when working up the lather on the face.

An early morning report as getting ready for a weekend trip, will be nice to see son and family though a short visit as being young they are having friends around later.
A really nice Shave today, made sure I did not rush and as a consequence was rewarded by what may be regarded as a bit of a "Face Stroker". My Skin always feels good after use of this Soap/After Shave. Need to pack Shaving gear and have decided to take The Occams Oren, which has proved to be a nice Travel Razor.

The Old Spice Original Shaving Cream lathered well with Jayaruh #425 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick Repeating Razor C with a Schick Proline Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Pinaud Citrus Musk EDC. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Come on man! You can't just do a black & white picture with such an iconic, rare and beautiful razor in that Schick Type F!!

The Schick E1 shaves exceptionally close and smooth. I decided to start using up some old samples of shave creams and soaps that have been laying around. This sample of Grafton from T&H really caught my attention. Very pleasing aroma and excellent lather. Wonderful shave all around
