Injector and SE Shaves

SE SOTD, Friday, July 5th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Romulus 316 SSP + a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2023, mild to tame mid range. Excellent machining and finish QC. Small head makes for a nimble shave, very enjoyable razor to use IMO. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Captain titian mild (7) sharp and smooth + excellent longevity in this razor for what ever reason.
Soap : Razorock Irish Countryside, nice scent with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Tailcoats" 24mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock Irish Countryside with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Romulus SE razor with a Kai Captain titian mild blade.

The Proraso Red Sandalwood Shave Soap lathered well with the Jayaruh #224 Synthetic Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the J.A. Henckels Rapide Lather Catcher and the J.A. Henckels Rapide wedge blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with Clubman Pinaud Classic Vanilla After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

Sunday shave, July 7th 2024

Razor : Yaqi Excalibur with a Yaqi 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2021>, tame mid range. Simple blade clamping, great affordable SE /ac type razor, not as refined as the Yaqi Romulus 316SSP but still worthy of decent shave. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Schick proline (3) sharp and smooth with reasonable longevity.
Soap : Ogallala Bayrum sage and Cedarwood, nice Bayrum soap with challenging lather at times with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Deep stones" 24 mm boss synthetic knot. Excellent lather generator, cloud like soft tips, nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Interesting brush but not my favorite for looks but still a decent brush for my shaving needs.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum sandalwood splash + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBs + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Yaqi Excalibur SE with a Schick proline blade.

Man, this was such a sweet shave. First shave with the Jayaruh #454. The Schick 66 was awesome.

The PSC Caffeinated Shaving Cream lathered well with the Jayaruh #454 Two-band Badger Brush. Two passes and touch ups with the Schick 66 G-4 Injector razor and the Personna Injector Blade gave me a close, comfortable shave. After a cold water rinse I finished off with PSC Caffeinated After Shave. I am clean, smooth, and refreshed...

 

ASRazor shave, Monday July 8th 2024

Razor : Star bar #4 lather catcher. Mfg 1919-1920, tame mid range. This is almost Star's last of the lather catchers that was made by Star company ( Kampfe brothers of Brooklyn NY). Star was the first mass produced safety razor in the world in the 1880's. This little razor is still my go to island stranded grail razor, when I slip in a new blade and have my shave it just performs so very well for those close comfortable stellar shaves. I have over 60 razors and it just up there with the top two, 95% of the time.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE (1) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : TOBS herbal sandalwood cream, this scent is addictive and just performs so well + excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi " Orbital ring" 24mm boar bristle hair. Excellent lather generator, soft split end bristle tips, nice splay scrubber + great lather painter.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Proraso red sandalwood with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning with my Star bar lather catcher(100 + years old) with a coated gem blade. (It does not get any better a shave like this morning.)

ASRazor shave, Tuesday, July 9th 2024

Razor : Star bar #4 lather catcher. Mfg 1919-20, tame mid range. Excellent design for its time and one of the last Lather catchers made by Star company(ASR brand). I concluded years ago this was my grail island razor and still up their with very few that can reach my Pinacol of a nice shave daily if wanted. Over 100 years young and still beating the competition in razor world. Good daily driver if you can find one IMO. Had a close comfortable stellar shave this morning.
Blade : Gem Personna SS PTFE(2) very sharp, excellent longevity, smooths out nicely, predictable + safest blade to handle.
Soap : TOBS Herbal sandalwood, very addictive scent 7/10 strength with excellent lather qualities.
Brush : Yaqi "Moka Express" 26mm synthetic. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Very enjoyable brush to lather my face and surly one of my best synthetic brushes.
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Ogallala Bayrum and Sandalwood + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
Results : or CCS,DFS,BBS + no irritation + no weepers= Had a close comfortable shave this morning with my Star bar lather catcher with a coated Gem blade.

Razor : Yaqi SE Romulus 316 SSP AC 50mm + a Yaqi Chippendale 316 SSP handle. Mfg 2013> mild to tame mid range depending on AC width blades or shim gap used. Small head parts make for a enjoyable nimble shave + a enjoyable shaving experience IMO. Had a close comfortable shave this morning.
Blade : Kai Captain Titian mild (8), sharp and smooth + excellent longevity. Very good top tier blade to use with this razor IMO.
Soap : Tabac, Mild flowery clean scent + some of the best lather qualities I have used.
Brush : Yaqi " Casino clubs" 26mm timber wolf synthetic knot. Excellent lather generator, luxury heavenly cloud like soft tips, gentle nice splay scrubber + excellent lather painter. Very nice knot to work the face + it mixes soap as good as any brush I own and is not a lather hog!
Pre shave : (Dedicated Cashmere synthetic)Brush wash whole face with CeraVe hand bar cleanser with a dollop of clear Aloe Vera on the cleaned beard area.
Prep : Cold water rinse after each pass of 2 + pickups. WTG + ATG + pickups.
Post shave : Razorock American barber with witch hazel + a dollop of CeraVe moisturizing lotion(scentless).
